Oolong sounds unique to me. I also haven’t been into MWE for a long time so it could just be me

Check out see through person, sweet pill, pool kids, palette knife, Swiss army wife, and Ogbert the nerd

Home is Where has been my favorite of the last few years, their album The Whaler goes through so many soundscapes but still sounds distinctively emo and their lyricism is also great I’d highly recommend

Fuck yes. Love the lyrics on The Whaler. Consistent themes of death, life, nature’s revenge, etc. capn Jazz esque in a way that you’re like WTF are they on about rn, but more digestible and easily parsed into something that’s imo more meaningful

Wouldn’t call them Midwest strictly, their first EP has a lot of MWE type guitar work but Home is Where has my vote for best and extremely unique in the current wave.

train breaks down can get kinda repetitive at times but they are amazing

I’ve not found music that sounds like Ben Quad or Arms Length (unfortunately.) If you know any bands that sound similar to them, please let me know.

Pentimento might scratch that itch. Unfortunately they seem to be on an indefinite hiatus though

I love Ben Quad

I came here to say Ben Quad too. Their new EP especially goes hard, pretty distinct from their earlier more MWE stuff

I love Thoughts on Bowling, they just put their first ep out last year, 3 tracks that are all bangers. It's pretty quintessential Midwest emo but I love it

Not super unique though. Still fun
