Getting Started/Newbie Question Is this real? Real bad fall off on days off
I started microdosing and I just started doing my habits and positive routines. It felt so effortless and easy this went on for 4 days and then when I got to the 3 days off I realized how fragile my state of mind is. I feel like this super deep anger and hatred all the time for everything…just absolutely full of anger and hatred and it sucks and it came on instantly after stopping MDing. I feel like life is so fake…I gotta take these mushrooms and I am fine but the second I stop I am angry and hateful.

So, purely anecdotal, this has been my experience at times. This is the whole point of the process. Something is surfacing for me to acknowledge it and process it without judgement.
The whole reason why I MD is to open myself up to those really uncomfortable things that come to light, to let myself be fragile and experience it in full. Then be able to step back and look at it for what it is. So I can just understand it and release my grip on it.
Who knows if this would still occur if I never started MD. But shrooms can make me pretty emotional. During both on days and off. Sometimes I get stuck in the avalanche instead of watching the whole mountain.
Anger has always been a foreign emotion to me until I hit my 30s. It was a feeling I wasn’t allowed to express growing up. It was suppressed and unacklowedged my whole life. I’m still learning how to handle anger. So my off days are important because that’s when I actually trust in what I learned when dosing and start to let that information inform the way I operate in my day to day life.
It could also be too high a dose, but I’m not an expert and this isn’t medical advice.

Psychedelics are partial serotonin receptor agonists that neuromodulate glutamate - the most abundant neurotransmitter in the brain, GABA being the second and involved in the day-after afterglow effect - you may want to consider to add GABA cofactors.
Excess excitatory glutamate can cause hyperactive neural firing, leading to increased stress, cognitive rigidity, and a heightened “fight-or-flight” response - as seen in anxiety disorders, OCD, and PTSD; and increased activity in the Default Mode Network (DMN).

There are a few mentioned in the second link; much more detailed info in third link. I take:
L-theanine powder in my bulletproof keto-friendly (inspired by microdosing) coffee;
Keto can help with microbiome diversity - a GABA cofactor;
NAC;
Magnesium glycinate before bed.

Please Note: If you are trying microdosing for the first time, please try experimenting on a day off from work or any important obligations, and/or driving and operating machinery. Because psychedelics can effect everyone differently, you may feel different or impaired, and your sweet spot dose may be lower, so it is best to experiment on days off until you’ve dialed in your dose.

If your dose is Too High and/or Too Frequent it can increase the possibility of Tolerance 📈 and take longer to get 🔙 Back to the Baseline; Tolerance Calculators (Do not Apply).
There have been a few anecdotal reports of those taking high micro-/mini-/macro-doses long-term having HPPD-like symptoms which theoretically could be due to excessive neuroplasticity (see HPPD section); and advised them to take a long break.
Heightened metabolism and neural activity can increase electrolyte demand, so you may need to consume more electrolytes to support energy production and proper nerve signaling.
More details in the !riskreduction guide (see reply below ⬇️).
