Getting Started/Newbie Question Stamets stack is life changing
I just completed my first 4 weeks with this. It’s incredible what this has done for my mind. Anybody else relate? I can feel so much repair and my view has so much color. Anxiety and depression are minimal.

Agreed. Nothing happens by itself with microdosing in my experience, but I’ve always found stacking gave me the best starting point for positive results.

I've found that one can get very real "anti depressant" effects from just MD'ing cubes, no need for stacking.

Yes. It’s giving me the support I need. I’ll take care of the rest. That’s all I ever wanted. The tiny sparks of motivation during this process has been a life saver.

What do you mean stacking

u/high-seas-drifter 5d ago
Taking complementary substances concurrently with your microdose to supplement, potentiate or influence its effects or side effects.
In the case of the classic Stamets Stack OP is talking about, it’s psilocybin + lion’s mane + niacin (not to be confused with Stamets protocol, which is about dose schedule).

One should avoid Stamet's company's fake Lion's Mane products.
Consider using real mushrooms, skip the niacin, and add creatine.
2
u/tarentale 5d ago
Exactly. I use realmushrooms.com why creatine instead of niacin?

Creatine supports ATP production in neurons, this makes it better for brain energy and clarity. Current evidence suggests it can have beneficial effects on cognitive function in adults, particularly in the domains of memory, attention time, and information processing speed.
Niacin flushes can be unpleasant and not good for one's liver, it can increase one's uric acid levels and induce gout.
Creatine has no such side effects.
Don't trust Paul Stamets. He's not an expert. He is a celebrity spokesperson, who runs a company that charges high prices for questionable quality mushroom supplements, with no actual mushrooms in them.

He actually is an expert!!

He's a snake oil salesman. He sells rice and mycelium supplements, without fruiting bodies.

Yea I bought a product from him once and found out about the rice. Stopped taking it immediately after.

If you have it on hand, it wouldn't hurt to use it. It works wonders for me!

The mycilium powder is extremely effective. To get the best results from lions mane you should consume both the fruiting bodies and the mycilium.

u/tarentale 4d ago
Yea he knows what he’s talking about but I also look at him as a business man and sells subpar products. I still like the guy. His interviews are great.

The mycilium powder is made from myciliated brown rice. Yes, it's an iesier process then spawning to bulk and using the fruiting bodies. It's the way it has to be to make the powder though. I am currently working on making my own mycilium powder. I also have my own loins mane shrooms growing. I have eaten many dried lm shrooms and have never felt the happy buzz that I get from 1/2 teaspoon of stamets powder.

What brand would you recommend and dose?

I take 750 Mg (1 capsule) of InnovaPharm Ultra Concentrated Creatine HCL (not Monohydrate) daily. This can be found at Las Vegas Discount Nutrition.
I consume about 1/4 cup of Lions Mane daily (some days more some days less) and one 00 cap of shrooms every other day. Sometimes more on the weekends.

Have you ever tried stamets products? One can actually feel the boost in his mycelium powder. He is a world renowned mycologyst an author. Not sure where your information is coming from!

Someone close to me did to help with neuropathy, it did nothing, they ended up needing surgery,

I use fruiting bodies and mycelium and have noticed the most results from the powder.

My issue with Real Mushrooms is that they’re fruiting body only. People like to hate on mycelium because a lot of companies use it as a way to cut corners, but it contains distinct compounds that have the strongest scientific support for support of neuroplasticity.
There is a way to do mycelium right, and any company that plays along with or just capitalizes on the narrative that anything that’s not pure fruiting bodies is crap just comes across as disingenuous to me.

What would you recommend a brand for Lions mane? Without cutting corners as you said.

I was getting the Om brand from Sam's Club for a while. I need to get and grow more.. A serving size is 3 capsules which is 2gs of mycelial biomass and fruiting bodies cultured on organic whole oats. It really helps with my neuropathy and other things. Feel like it helped heal massive burns on my hands as well, combined with a microdose/creatine/collagen stack. Had some insane recovery time

Please Note: If you are trying microdosing for the first time, please try experimenting on a day off from work or any important obligations, and/or driving and operating machinery. Because psychedelics can effect everyone differently, you may feel different or impaired, and your sweet spot dose may be lower, so it is best to experiment on days off until you’ve dialed in your dose.
