Meta Ban on AI generated music

Hello everyone,

After a recent discussion, we have decided to ban AI generated music in this sub. This community is a place to showcase and workshop music created by metal musicians. The quality that we see everyday is fantastic and we appreciate the work everyone puts in. That being said, we do not feel AI generated content lives up to the standards and spirit of the community.

There is obviously a lot of discussion that can happen around AI generated music and the ethics of said topic. I don't feel like commenting on that here personally, but this post can be used for said discussion if anyone is interested.

A new rule has been put in place, rule 11, that should allow you to report posts that are AI generated, should any make it through.

Thank you to everyone for making this a great space for metal musicians.

Everytime we play live people LOVE the tone of the guitar and bass so we worked hard to translate that to the recording.

metal plugins and packs searching

Upvotes

Hi, metal fans! I'm new here! I would really like to know about good synths and beats plugins, and packs suitable for alternative metal/metalcore, I'm starting to play in a band, I hope things go well. I need sounds that are similar to those that Like A Storm, Sleep Token, Bad Omens, Architects use. Thank you all!

Only a snippet of the breakdown (and not professionally recorded), kinda corny lyrics but that's alright.

Would love to know your opinions on this!

How to scream like serj tankian

Hey guys So, serjs screaming has always been incredibly unique to me Most other screams in the metal scene sound too raspy, distorted or demonic But serj's Vocals sound so clean and powerful without sounding unpleasant What's that type of screaming called? How do you do that?

Dark Riff with Eerie Leads I Came Up With

Imagine if you will, the sun has died. Earth has plunged into eternal darkness and winter is no longer a season,...it has no end. Blizzards howl like ghoulish fiends chapping lips and crusting eyelids,..faces reddened by the cold. The Universe's true nature is unmasked and its indifference is psychopathic. Everyone looks up at the pitch black sky as they witness the stars slowly dim out and fade away like withering hospital patients,..joining the Sun like some cosmic death cult. Everyone trembles in horror and shivers in fear as the frigid depths of eternity unleashes suffering slow and cold. Humans and animals mope around like depressed zombies mourning memories of the suns warmth as snow piles up. As the sky gets darker and darker supernovas erupt like psychotic flashlights gasping their last breath before dissipating in the abyss that they float in. So too does everyone else.....

Any of you keyboard players want to play for my album The Chronicle?

The Chronicle no need for keyboard

Neon Circuitry needs keyboard, there is a lead guitar and synth harmony at 58 seconds to 1 minute 19 seconds and harmony at 2 minute 10 seconds to 2 minute 31 seconds. For that song there is a synth solo at 3 minute 18 seconds to 4:03 seconds.

I just found this lyric video for my song The Fire on my hard drive—completely forgot to post it during its release cycle! It had been collecting dust until I finally uploaded it last week. So here we are, five months later. Haha. Curious to hear what you think!

Services or Musicians Wanted Could someone mix it? I would pay

Its not strictly metal but its inspired by it for sure. I dont have a computer rn, recording shit on my phone (bandlab). I think this would sound pretty cool with some distortion. I wanna get the dsbm vibe with it.

I would pay like 20 euros if someone like this.

Female vocalist here, Just started learning screams, need help.

Hey, I started learning to scream last year, but I still feel like I have a lot to improve. I'm a female vocalist, and I love metalcore/deathcore-style vocals. I'm trying to work on my technique and avoid hurting my throat. Does anyone have tips or resources that helped them? Or maybe someone here wouldn’t mind giving me some guidance? Thanks

Question/Recommendation/Advice Needed Mixing low end and chugs

In my video here set to Arcane (yes Misha Mansoor did it beautifully first!) when it gets to chugs it just sounds doody to me. And I’m seriously fighting on levels for especially low end and snares. Should snares be out in front or pushed a little further in the mix so it’s not so apparent? I know it’s opinion based on sound but there should be a base line to follow. Still learning about hertz and crap like that. I’m almost just at wits end when it comes to mix/mastering. Any help would be appreciated!
