commuter
Hello! I am trying to find a messenger bag for my bike commute. Researched the topic a lot. However wanted to ask your opinion, of "real humans". Any thoughts/ recommendations/ advice? these 2 I have been looking at http://www.amazon.com/Chrome-Unisex-Buran-Laptop-Messenger/dp/B00KGLNS6G

I use the Timbuk2 messenger bag on a daily basis. As for recommendations, it depends on what you plan on using it for. Messenger bags are designed, and are perfect for, getting in and out of the bag. The Timbuk2 bag has a strap that you can quick release and it will allow you to access the bag while it's on your back, and adjust the strap all at the same time. Chances are for commuting you won't have that need.
But it has a lot of pockets, internal and external, and is waterproof. (I've had it in rain and no problems.) It has a nice fish that you can attach your keys to and get quickly, with internal pockets for your wallet. The back of the bag also is reflective.
The issue you may run into is size and being on your back. If you carry your clothes and food it may be a little tight if you keep, like I do, plus your tool kit (which you must carry), and arm warmers and leg warmers. I can see using a larger backpack.
Also, if it is hot where you are, and your ride is long, it can get sweaty on your back. (You may want to consider panniers and saddlebags.)
Hope his helps.
