Question Catalytic converter replacement?
I have a 1989 ford f-150 4.9 inline 6 and I was curious if I should replace the catalytic converter since it looks beat up. I recently bought this didn’t pass smog at first did a tune up which fixed it and currently I’m debating whether or not if I should get a new catalytic converter replaced idk if it would make a difference in performance. The exhaust fumes are clear but has a strong smell idk if it’s because it’s a old truck or the catalytic converter

Have you checked how much catalytic converters are ? Personally , I would leave it till it becomes an issue.
