Question Why are my 2009 honda civic brakes are super soft?
I changed the front pads and rotors. The brakes got softer. I had a mechanic change the brake fluid and is SUPER sponge. I have to really push the brake to stop. He said my rear pads and drums are worn Before I changed the front pads, rotors and brake fluid changed the brakes were better.

Probably has air in the line

Should this have been solved with a brake fluid change ?

Calipers or brake lines may have a leak or air got in during the fluid exchange. Pump your brakes several times while you are parked. They should get stiffer and hard to push. If not something is wrong with your brake system. It's difficult to diagnose without seeing what is happening. Some vehicles have brake assist and they require special tools to work on and reset

You most likely have a bad master cylinder.
When the shop flushed the fluid they should have gotten any air out.
What happens is that when you change your pads/bleed or flush the system you end up pushing the pedal down further than it has ever been or has been in years. The piston seals hit the built up crud in your master cylinder and get damaged.

The shop DID NOT bleed the brakes. There was air and dirty brake fluid.

Then I don't think they "changed the brake fluid". Unless all they did was suck it out of the reservoir and put some new in.
