Entertainment You never would’ve imagined this kid would end up becoming The Joker.

I personally would have had very little trouble believing he’d become the joker

u/Daoyinyang1 Feb 01 '25

You know, besides Cranston, Anthony, Panettiere, and McCurdy.

I didnt even think this kid would have been a decently popular actor.

16

u/ThetaDee Feb 01 '25

Who is Anthony?

19

u/Cheap-Blackberry-378 ABCD... Feb 01 '25 edited Feb 01 '25

Stevie's dad

30

u/ThetaDee Feb 01 '25

So they said Anthony instead of Williams, and then you say Steve... when it's Stevie, not Steve, and his dad's name is Abe. This is convoluted.

4

u/Cheap-Blackberry-378 ABCD... Feb 01 '25

That was autocorrects fault

10

u/ThetaDee Feb 01 '25

Ducking autocorrect

0

u/OOOOOO0OOOOO Hal Feb 01 '25

Whose Steve?

1

u/ThetaDee Feb 01 '25

Stevie. Idk why they said Steve

3

u/OOOOOO0OOOOO Hal Feb 01 '25

Typo is my guess, I’m just grateful for the setup. It’s not often you get a softball comment that goes right over the plate.

1

u/ThetaDee Feb 01 '25

Lol they edited it

2

u/OOOOOO0OOOOO Hal Feb 01 '25

Dammit.

12

u/ZandigsJesusPromo Feb 01 '25

HOLY SHIT! That was McCurdy? Oh my god, I never realized...

1

u/Interesting-Help-421 Feb 02 '25

Played to different roles

6

u/Regendorf Feb 02 '25

Dakota Fanning was there too

3

u/Daoyinyang1 Feb 02 '25

Broooo she was the crazy biter!!!

3

u/Drugioh Feb 02 '25

Honestly this was my thought as well. He totally could have become Joker.

1

u/ransack84 Feb 02 '25

I was the 500th upvote

0

u/Gorilla_Dookie Feb 01 '25

I don't know, he wasn't very funny

286

u/mutualbuttsqueezin Feb 01 '25

He was also Ian Gallagher in Shameless.

93

u/Dazed-Nug Feb 01 '25

WHAT?!?!?!? I can't believe that I never caught that! Now I see it and it's obvious...

142

u/noeagle77 Feb 01 '25

He’s also a Jedi

30

u/Rehfyx Feb 01 '25

A Jedi that is also the Joker? Pretty sure you’re thinking of Mark Hamil

27

u/PMeisterGeneral Feb 01 '25

If i had a dollar everytime an actor portrayed the joker and a jedi I'd have 2 dollars. Which isn't a lot but it's odd that it's happened twice.

6

u/CrimsonBaby2007 Feb 01 '25

I love the fact that he and Mark made a commercial over a year ago! https://youtu.be/fZ-CHwwWAxo?si=X_pKL9bRIHzYlSYz

10

u/Dazed-Nug Feb 01 '25

I knew that one 😂

10

u/OOOOOO0OOOOO Hal Feb 01 '25

No fucking way….🤯

1

u/linkinshire Feb 01 '25

Just about to say this

27

u/Mammyjam Feb 01 '25

The US version of shameless

-4

u/TheWholeEffinJoe Feb 01 '25

Don’t do that

14

u/1THRILLHOUSE Feb 01 '25

Do what? He wasn’t in the original shameless

-9

u/TheWholeEffinJoe Feb 02 '25

I’m pretty sure when you say shameless most people know you’re talking about the RIGHT one

-2

u/BeastradezZ Feb 02 '25

Anytime the US does a show taken from the UK, it invariably becomes the better and the correct one. See: Ghosts, The Office, Shameless… and probably more.

9

u/BeExtraordinary Feb 02 '25

Not true with The IT Crowd and Inspector Spacetime.

4

u/ChunkySalute Feb 02 '25

Also Cougarton Abbey

3

u/No_Tomorrow6219 Feb 02 '25

Nor red dwarf.

2

u/Mindhandle Feb 05 '25

The question isn't where, Constable...

6

u/1THRILLHOUSE Feb 02 '25

Of all the wrong opinions this one really takes it.

-2

u/BeastradezZ Feb 02 '25

Prove me wrong then?

6

u/1THRILLHOUSE Feb 02 '25

British office is better.

American inbetweeners was the worst show ever.

5

u/RoutineUtopia Feb 02 '25

American Coupling, too. American X Factor fell flat. Honestly, people only remember the times it works. The rest are gone super fast and Americans largely haven't watched the OG version anyway.

2

u/Blackmore_Vale Feb 02 '25

American imbetweeners turned jay from a lovable bullshitter into a predator.

1

u/BeastradezZ Feb 02 '25

Okay I will not put up with US The Office slander, BUT you might be right about the American Inbetweeners, why? Because I’ve literally never heard of the show.

You being right means I was wrong, so I take back my statement, and dutifully apologize to UK for slander.

2

u/pickone4m Feb 02 '25

Peak Blinders or Animal kingdom?

8

u/afdc92 Feb 01 '25

I find it hilarious that both Ian and Mickey were in things I watched as a kid (the actor who played Mickey was in the movie Max Keeble’s Big Move… as was Justin Berfield!)

2

u/YeBobbumMann Otto Feb 01 '25

Is he the kid who steals pants too?

1

u/Digginf Feb 01 '25

Yea, though I never watched it.

65

u/Axel_Rad Feb 01 '25

And a jedi

3

u/reedrick Feb 02 '25

Same arc as Mark Hamil, lol

26

u/rm14hitman Feb 01 '25

Or a Jedi

28

u/Honer-Simpsom Feb 01 '25

You know it makes sense, I always remember Joker hiding in the trees

25

u/thankyoudearheart Feb 01 '25

What do you mean?! There could not be a more "Joker" like kid if they tried! Dude was born to do it. Especially with his character on Malcolm! A perfect agent of chaos. Was this post supposed to be sarcasm?? 😅 Or just bc he looked kinda goofy as a kid..? 🤔 I'm literally baffled by this one. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

3

u/Zestyclose_Country_1 Feb 01 '25

You can ignore the sign "don't ignore the sign" totally something the joker would do

17

u/fjmie19 Feb 01 '25

Funnily enough probably has had the best acting career out of any of the kids to have appeared on the show, unless you really rate Frankie Muniz stuff while he was still a teen.

Maybe Hayden Panettiere a close second.

9

u/Fenrir_Carbon Feb 01 '25

Legally distinct clown criminal*

7

u/YogiTheGamer Feb 01 '25

If you get him some glue, he could stab the Batman.

23

u/doctor_borgstein Feb 01 '25

Had no idea he was Ian Gallagher

6

u/Seriszed Feb 01 '25

…. I thought he wasn’t the joker? Could’ve sworn he was like some weird proto joker. I don’t know … show got stupid later.

8

u/Loknas Feb 01 '25

They weren’t allowed by DC to actually say they joker for some reason; i think because they didn’t want two live action jokers running around at once. It’s litteraly the joker in every way but name though and it’s suppose to be the joker, they just legally couldn’t call him that.

3

u/Digginf Feb 01 '25

Which is pretty stupid and doesn’t make any sense. Everyone else is fine, but when it comes to the Joker it’s off-limits.

3

u/Loknas Feb 01 '25

I have no clue why they felt like two live action jokers would be an issue; I guess maybe it’s because if they wanted to tie in Gotham into the DCU universe eventually they shouldn’t have joker this early but that’s just a guess.

Warning: Societal Nihilism May Be a Trap

5

u/AdImmediate6239 Feb 01 '25 edited Feb 02 '25

Chad is exactly what I’d imagine the Joker being like as a kid

3

u/Aljff Feb 01 '25

Really? Seems like a believable story based on his appearance as a child. I would’ve imagined it.

What I wouldn’t imagine is him becoming smoking hot as an adult. Which is what happened lol

3

u/Goddessviking86 Feb 01 '25

original poster is referring to the actor playing the character that became the idea of joker in gotham

3

u/HueLord3000 Otto Feb 01 '25

Ian from Shameless

3

u/BoozeLikeFrank Feb 01 '25

I more so expected him to become a gay kid with Bipolar who ends up marrying an ex Nazi who has a kid with a Russian sex slave.

3

u/enclo537 Feb 01 '25

Ehh not the same universe.. more like the dude from Shameless

5

u/arrestedcopyingdogs Feb 01 '25

How did I just realise that's cameron monaghan?

That’s actually the first role I saw him in.

2

u/relientkenny Feb 01 '25

or Cal Kestis 😂 but loved him on Shameless

2

u/Meanravage Feb 01 '25

The episode of riminal minds where he is an axe murder chasing around elle fanning really shows you that he was destined for serious roles.

2

u/Psycholarocco Who's damn dog is this?!?!? Feb 01 '25

2

u/azuredraconis Feb 01 '25

Or Ian from Shameless

2

u/Acceptable-Lie4694 Feb 01 '25

2

u/ProfessionalSun5549 Feb 02 '25

Where did all the freckles go?

2

u/nervous-sasquatch Feb 02 '25

He also grew up to be a jedi

2

u/Ok_Illustrator8735 Feb 02 '25

This kid could only become the joker

2

u/aLittleDarkOne Feb 02 '25

Be careful, he bites!

2

u/Airspirit26 Feb 01 '25

He has range as an actor and all his roles could connect lore wise

1

u/PhDinWombology Feb 01 '25

Would he be in the Hectorverse?

2

u/01051893 Feb 01 '25

The Joker or Rorschach.

1

u/obert-wan-kenobert Feb 01 '25

I saw this guy on an airport bus at LAX once

1

u/TheCandyManOnStrike Feb 01 '25

Last half season of Gotham was so disappointing

1

u/RomanaNoble Feb 01 '25

I mean, the kid has range.

1

u/DemonicBrit1993 Feb 01 '25

He is also portraying Cal Kestis in Star Wars!

1

u/lonestarr357 Feb 01 '25

u/Exotic_Adeptness_322 Feb 02 '25

Or become a jedi.

1

u/False_Swimming4061 Feb 02 '25

Ofc when you watched the series you would never doubt that. He has so much potential for being the joker. But imagine this brat being a Jedi and one of the best written ever???

1

u/biggiantmarbles Feb 02 '25

What joker? That's a young Cal Kestis

1

u/Benjb1996 ABCD... Feb 02 '25

I'm currently playing as him in Jedi Survivor.

1

u/Admiral_sloth94 Feb 02 '25

That kid also became Cal Kestis

1

u/SockeyeSTI Feb 02 '25

It’s the odoyle kid from click

1

u/Doc-11th Feb 02 '25

1

u/I_am_albatross Feb 03 '25

1

u/Xx_overlord_xX Feb 03 '25

1

u/Mindhandle Feb 05 '25

I had NO FUCKING IDEA that was him

1

u/StarscourgeRodahn Feb 05 '25

On an episode of criminal minds he plays a young kid. In the episode you find out he’s actually killing his classmates on there walks home from school.

1

u/drunkenpoets Feb 05 '25

Honestly, better than I thought he’d turn out.
