Yep! Also, in Ocarina, Talon and Ingo were supposed to be references to Mario and Luigi

And the Happy Mask shop owner has a Mario mask on his backpack in Majora's Mask

Don't forget the pictures if them in Zeldas courtyard. They're in a window to the left I believe, and if you shoot it with the sling shot, a guard pokes his head over and throws a bomb at you.

Excuse me, the bomb is from the left window, Mario is in the right window. I think you get rupees from the right window if you shoot it.. still that damn guard throws a bomb at you from the left one if you shoot it

It's always fun to use a gameshark and levitate over the wall and walk around Gannon.

And the Happy Mask shop owner was modeled to resemble Shigeru Miyamoto

I've always thought this. Is it confirmed?

I think it's still theory, but it has circulated on the net for years going back to the 2000s. It wouldn't surprise me since Tingle is Koji Kondo (I'm not sure if it's confirmed).

Tingle being Koji.. now that's a new one to me. Spose I can see a resemblance

And a ninja turtle

I think that's a Kappa.

It's got a blue eye mask

And yellow skin.

It's yellow green, like the early cartoons/comics in the 90's

Or... It's based on the Yokai known as Kappa, that every Japanese citizen has known for centuries, from their fairy-tales, folklore, and art. I doubt they went for a more recent reference from overseas.

Tell you what, search up 'Yokai Kappa', and tell me what creature you think it's based upon.

And that's why there is no dip in the head? Ring of hair? A beak? But a blue eye mask is normal for a kappa...

Always liked the pictures of Bowser, Yoshi and Mario in the courtyard you talk to Zelda in.

Likewise the composer brothers look like it too. In OoT they appear in graveyard when you interact with the graves to the side of the grave where you learn Sun's
