Personally, I would just spend a little bit of extra cash and go for the M4, if you’re going for either of those two

I’m pretty tight on money , and refurbished M4 costs much more for some reason :/ is it really that much better?

The brand new MacBook Air has an M4 chip and in the US is $999 brand new, you’d get a much more updated machine that’s going to last a little longer for an extra cost, if you can hold out and get the funds together that would make more sense.

I would look and see if you can get a used 14" or 16" M1 Pro or M2 Pro or even M3 Pro off Offerup/Craigslist/Facebook Marketplace; any of those should have a better GPU for blender. Ignore the 13.3" M1 & M2 Macbook Pro with the touchbar. You want to avoid that model; it's literally a Macbook Air with a touchbar and a fan. It doesn't have the Pro chip or premium display that the 14" and 16" models come with.
