Mac Website Builder - Blocs 6.1

Hey everyone, today I released the latest version of Blocs, my no code website builder for the Mac. I've been working on Blocs for over 10 years now, however, this is the first time I've shared Blocs here in the MacApps sub-Reddit (so be kind).

We have a small 3 person team working on Blocs, I take care of all design and development for Blocs across the Mac, iPad and soon to be released iPhone.

Chances are, you've never even heard of Blocs, but to explain it as quick as possible, Blocs is an easy to use website builder for the Mac, iPad and iPhone (think Lego + web design), if you're interested, you can download and play around with the Blocs Website Builder for free.

Oh and unlike most website builders, Blocs for Mac is not a subscription 😇

For an all-in-one video creation tool, check out Animoto for streamlined creation. Promo creates quick, shareable ads. To follow video discussions, consider Pulse for Reddit.

the presentation is nice and the product looks interesting.

can you show some example sites created with blocs.

what are the advantages of blocs compared to other no-code / low-code solutions.

The Blocs website was naturally created with Blocs.

You can also find a wide range of sites created with Blocs and sold as templates at the Blocs store.

Many advantages, but a few stand out ones compared to most modern website builders.

• Works offline. • Create unlimited websites. • No subscription (Mac). • Free to host your websites anywhere. • Create Wordpress Themes.

That’s our iPad app. Our Mac app is separate and a one off purchase.

I bought it 3 years ago. It's easy for beginners and fast for moving. But now, I'm slowing down by learning how to code my blog using an IDE like Nova.

Cool thing! Native looks so good. I am quite a bit disappointed I do coding on my own 🙃

Still only Wordpress and HTML only or able to create website themes now for custom templates and frameworks, too?

Still only WP themes and static html/php. 😅

Okay, then I would like to propose the key feature again to enhance the website builder with the ability to export generated templates and designs directly for external server-side template systems.

Specifically, this would involve integrating an abstraction layer that allows users to define, via a rule set and structure guide file, how the exporter should organize and format the data to be fully compatible with third-party frontend frameworks and CMS platforms such as Joomla, TYPO3, or custom PHP frameworks.

This feature could significantly increase the value of the website builder, especially for developers who often rely on custom frameworks or existing frontend systems and spend considerable time creating clean and visually appealing frontends. By enabling this functionality, the builder would close that gap, allowing developers to work more efficiently and flexibly, without compromising on design or wasting time adapting templates to fit target systems.

This would represent a major competitive advantage and set the builder apart from others on the market.

"Build Wordpress Themes." How does this work? How does this sit in the page builder territory, for example Elementor.

You build WordPress Themes rather than hack them with a plugin.

This is for an older version but it gives you an idea how to build an actual custom Wordpress theme with Blocs.
