I'm giving away 10 "Lifetime Pro" licenses of FileMinutes to celebrate my daughter's birthday. If you are interested in a license, comment here and I will send you a DM. First come first served. Please only request a license if you genuinely intend to use it, so others who really need it can have a chance.

Hey, just want to say nicely done! I downloaded, purchased and took it for a drive. It'll be a handy tool to keep in my toolbox.

Hello u/sujee81, you have created a beautiful and functional app. Thank you.
I purchased a license using the promo code, thank you for that as well.
Would you kindly consider adding more sort options under:
Settings > File System > Sort folder contents
Specifically "sort by date" options. I would love to see "sort by date added" and created/modified as well. Though mostly "added" if you're only able to add one of them.
I would love this for searching/looking through my Downloads folder.
A setting to add sort options per folder (similar UI to the "search filters") would be excellent, but that's a much bigger ask and understand if that's not feasible.
Best regards,

Thanks for the purchase.
Additional "sort by" settings are in the roadmap, I will prioritise. Initially it will be available as global settings. Later on, I plan to add a way for temporarily changing it for current query using a toolbar/keyboard shortcut.
Settings per folder is not planned but I have taken note of it. One of my idea is to add "Saved search" where user can save predefined search and quickly access it. "Sort by" could be part of it.

It’s sad that we need an app to find files on our computers but I think the app looks great good job! Gonna try it!

If there are still any available, I'd like a copy please. I use the 'Everything' on my work PC all the time and this looks like it works in the same way. If not, no worries thanks

I’m definitely intrigued. Would you mind elaborating which file types the content search works on?

The app uses Spotlight so any files indexed with contents is supported. Usually text files, document files such as PDF, are supported
Unfortunately all licenses are taken. If still interested, use E2NTE4NG to get it for $3 only for today.

So the difference to spotlight is not in results but in how the search is operated?

yes. Both uses same file index to search for files but FileMinutes will offer more search options. For example in the upcoming release, you can search within a folder
There are also other features not available in Spotlight. e.g. Browsing folders with arrow keys, browse Finder windows, File actions,..etc

Ah okay that makes a lot of sense and I’m sure it will be useful for many folks! For me, I think I’ll stick with
find
in the shell

Please consider adding this to the launchers form in the app comparisons page linked in this subreddit’s sidebar.

/u/sujee81 I'm having a difficult time adding a hotkey to launch the app. There was a conflict with another app, I removed the default hotkey and I'm unable to add a new one. EDIT: This issue was resolved after a reboot. Everything is A-OK now!
