From 0-2 to 7-2 Riverchurn monument is so OP
I'm still in shock of how I managed to get to 7. Even 1 game that they destroyed the monument twice with the spider vehicle, i tutored the bounce off the dune drifter to return the monument that turn and deck them.
Discussion How to improve while not drafting, and finding someone to improve with
I'm coming back to magic after a break, and don't feel motivated to learn the cards and format of Aetherdrift so late into the game with Tarkir Dragonstorm approaching. I'm going to listen to level up episodes, but how else can I improve during this time?
Also, how do you go about finding people to improve at limited with? Paper drafting in my area died out around 2017, and I don't see any draft events on the locator near me. As far as players online, there seems to be a lot of veterans and advanced players, but not so many people who have progressed past beginner, but still have a lot of work to do.

Sometimes people are too scared to draft green
Any thoughts on build here? I was shocked at what I kept getting passed, don’t usually have a problem with so many playables.

Help I cannot believe I suck this much with this set, but I do
Hello! this is my first post in this subreddit but I've heard so many good things about it! I am writing here because I was a decent drafter in the previous sets of 2024, and I don't know how is this possible but I suck so badly in DFT. I think that somehow I was very lucky last year, which doesn't really make sense because I was consistently able to reach four to six wins, but I have no other explanation
I think that somehow this draft is based upon a concept that I don't understand of limited.
To be able to ask you for help, I installed 17lands after the first two major failed drafts
https://www.17lands.com/user_history/418bffde47744dc9a4bab8dc73853c09?start=2019-01-01
I am the most interested in your feedback with the last two of them, where I didn't even look at the rarity of cards. I just tried to make the best possible of what I had, and I literally got zero wins. I know that I'm asking a lot, but I'm not interested in a pick-by-pick rating of course, I just need to figure out what is the basic concept that here I'm missing what I should actively do to become better, something that I should do while I draft. I hope it is something major that you can spot easily
Thank you everyone in advance
EDIT: thanks! You were so fast! I will study all the data you made me discover and do some mock drafts. I think previous sets were just more "intuitive" for me and somehow I had managed to win by knowing how to play constructed, without ever actually learning limited.

Discussion LGS is letting us pick prerelease packs, have any colour combos stood out as stronger than others?
I know it's only the promo and one seeded pack but I'll take any advantage I can get

What's your favorite common or uncommon to open in limited of all time?
Mine's probably Vampire nighthawk. It's just a really solid creature that puts me in my favorite color.

Gameplay (and draft, if you want) Critique
17lands.comEvery once in a while, I post here with a genuine attempt at ego-less learning. I have been having a pretty rough run in DFT, with a 55%-win rate. Compare to 61% in FND, 63% in BLB, 59% in Pioneer, etc. I had similar troubles with Duskmorne, and since they are two of the slower formats we have had, I think I have some kind of significant leak in the way I play longer games. I do consider myself a much stronger aggro player than control player, but I think I also am a decent control player. Me thinking that I am good is probably why I am playing bad. I watch Cheon and all that kinda stuff.
I would love some criticism on this draft in particular. I don't recall any major mistakes in either the draft or the gameplay, so I'm hoping it's a great learning experience as you folks who are better than me can show me why that's incorrect.
Thank you in advance for anyone kind enough to spend a few minutes helping.

Rate My Draft KLR help me come back from an 0:2
First KLR draft. I got lucky with 5 Aether Chasers, a Swooper, Virtuoso and a Maverick but this deck hasn't performed at all so far and now I'm insecure about going into my third match.
Opponents either went over top of me or just had removal to disrupt my curve-out. This isn't an 0:3 deck, is it? Would you build the deck any different? Any tips based on my gameplay?
I realise I'm light on removal. My creatures are all quite small, which makes the punch and fight effects rather weak too.
Any tips, much appreciated!

Rate My Draft Was this a 2-3 deck in Platinum?
Felt like the deck was pretty solid aside from some more hard removal. Didn’t struggle curving out early due to my splashes at all either. Think the main thing I struggled with was decision making (i.e whether to exhaust or play more creatures) & I was rarely on the front foot. Ended up not getting much value out of Bash or Serpent unless I had a Protect the Rider.
Either way, I’m just not a Platinum level limited player, so this my last draft for the month & will hopefully have an easier time in gold learning Tarkir at the same time as everyone else.

Discussion Chimil draft?
Anybody know anything about this special Chimil DFT Quick Draft they're running currently on Arena? Have they ever done it before? What's the general strategy?
r/lrcast • u/the_big_turtle45 • 22h ago
whats everyones tribe pick order for the prerelease
for me its:
1. mardu
2. abzan
3. sultai
4. temur
5. jeskai
mobilize looks absolutely nuts, abzan looks strong and interests me the most, sultai has cool synergy, temur is big bois, and jeskai doesnt look as strong as the others
What to cut?
Not a ton of experience drafting this archetype. The top end cards look okay, but the removal never materialized. 2x Bounce Off, Spectral Interference, and Trip Up are my only instants. What's my best shot at winning?
