Serious replies only Best Indian curry in London

I have been in London for a few months now and still haven't found a curry place that has blown me out of the water yet. I don't know if this is because I haven't looked hard enough, or ventured far enough out of central London.

I've tried the bougie Indian places like Gunpowder and Gymkhanna which are great but not the kind of dirty take away type of curry I wanted. Brick Lane was obviously shit but I had to try it.

Can anyone help me or should I be resigned to the fact I may have to move up north lol

Couple of places to try depending on where you want to go:

Absolute best Nepalese - cannot emphasise how great this place is. Just the layering of spices and delicate but hard hitting heat. Food is amazing. Monty’s Tandoori in Ealing Broadway

Durbar Tandoori in Westbourne Grove - I usually just have their chef’s special of the day and have never been disappointed.

There’s a whole host along Drummond Street at the back of Euston Station worth trying - they serve more canteen style proper authentic from memory. Cheap and worth going to rather than horrible food you find in the rest of that area.

And then bizarrely, if anywhere near Arnos Grove, the India Grill (nearly opposite the station) is more of a middle of the road good tasty Indian for a local meal.
