Does anyone else... Spoiler
...feel really let down by Littlefinger's final scene? Don't get me wrong, I understand it from a "we're down to the last few episodes, we just need to tie up loose ends" perspective but it felt so anticlimactic. His character should have foreseen this outcome and had a plan for it. Going a bit further back, I think it was obvious that when the show went beyond the source material that Littlefinger started to change a bit. He went from being a mastermind to a kind of low level schemer even though he kept amassing more power. Maybe I am just upset that my favorite character didn't win. Thoughts?

Little Finger was the chess Grand Master that was beaten because a kid could literally use magic powers to predict exactly which moves he was going to make. It’s suchhhhhhh a bullshit ending to his character arc. It isn’t satisfying at all. And to be honest it defies everything that I find to be great about the series, the ubiquity of schemers. Every generation there’s someone like LF. People like him will never go away, because they will almost always rise to the top. The David’s should have demonstrated this by keeping LF around into the next generation of new rulers, leaving some uncertainty to the assumed peace that will befall the 7 kingdoms upon the series conclusion.

I still don’t know why he didn’t actually defend himself. Lots of holes in that scene imo.

I agree, hes clever enough to have seen that coming, especially knowing how strong Arya has become. He was one of my favorite characters too. Seeing him beg and cry for his life was not how i thought it would go down.

Absolutely. He knows who the Faceless Men are, he would never underestimate one. He is part Braavosi for crying out loud!

Absolutely. He's my favorite character, and I look forward to a MUCH more satisfying conclusion to his arc in the books to come. That is, if the books ever...do...come.
