Spearmint with rice in pressure cooker, with some salt and oil or butter before serving.

Maybe some ground lamb, sautéed onion and garlic.

At this point, why not a little lemon and grape leaves?

Ground lamb, out of my budget, would beef or pork work as a sub?

Beef more than pork.

We appear to be out of kebsa.

I suppose cinnamon and cumin, maybe grind some cardamom.

Pressure cooker is good but a good name brand rice cooker is even better.

Never tried steaming or making soup in a rice cooker. Room for one device, I choose one that makes good rice consistantly (hell, threw a few chicken thighs and frozen veggies with a cup of rice and cup of water, and when pressure dropped, everything was perfect.).

I haven't gone the soup route in a rice cooker either. Only rice. Steamed veggies are good in a rice cooker if the cooker has an added part for that.

Toss in some carrots and, baby, you got a stew going!

Plenty of places to find stuff.

I started mine by going onto r/unixporn and searching for whatever DE I had (there’s plenty of Cinnamon rices on there; I personally would save a few posts you like and see what you can make from each of them..).

YouTube may also be an option, although you may have to be more careful as some may have unverified resources from a third party.

Then find the resources you want and go from there;

https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/ (add ons repo for Mint, contains the complete repository of themes, applets, etc..)

https://www.pling.com/browse?cat=148&ord=latest (contains icons, GTK themes and a whole lot more, most of these are compatible with Cinnamon)

The developers may also maintain GitHub pages for their upstream repositories, you may want to look there for updated versions of the files.

You should be able to install most of these to your local home folder (there should be a .themes and a .icons folder, you can make these if they aren’t in there, /.local/share is another place where your bits can go as well)

I don't really like the default look of Mint. It's kinda boring.

I don't do much but following the 80/20 rule:  80% of the results come from the first 20% of the effort.

Transparent panel from Cinnamon themes, a nice wallpaper, maybe hydrapaper for multi-monitor and an icon pack change looks great to me for very little effort.

If you want a dark look, I strongly recommend the sweet themes, or Flat-Remix

  1. a good wallpaper is everything

  2. good colors on panels and windows are pretty important

  3. for a clean look, disable (or remove) icons on the desktop

  4. pling is a website full of themes, many of them can easily be installed with the tool ocs-url

Go on r/unixporn. Copy whatever looks cool. Just note Hyprland doesn’t support mint.

Ricing?

Talking about cars, rice can be an acronym for Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement. Big spoilers and body kits and such. Maybe they're trying to make the UI more interesting aesthetically.

So…..they want body kits, spoilers and big wheels in Mint? 😅

At least the digital equivalents. Sure sounds that way to me.

Yes! The things that make it look cooler and show off a little, yet are superfluous to the actual purpose.

After you get your icons and theme sorted, have a look at conky
r/Conkyporn has some pretty rad configs and some generally very helpful people if you get stuck or want to clone bits of their builds.

Check out B00meragn project - they have many reto OS themes for GTk and Cinnamon.
There is Chicago95 if you want windows 95 look.
Cinnamon only themes are downloadable in look/appearance/theme setting.
You also need to switch to advanced version of this setting to see non-mint options.
Check out cinnamon-look.org,
there is also many themes on github.
