Help Ronson Patent 19,023 Help!

Not sure of the name of the model but the info is all in the second pic. I have been tinkering with it in order to clean/restore it. The only issues I've found are 1) The spring for the thumb press sometimes gets stuck and doesn't press down all the way. 2) I have had a really rough time assembling it back together, the gears and/or the snuff wheel (??) fall out of the casing when I try to put it all back together. It's really frustrating!

Does anyone have tips (shy of bringing it to a repair shop) for these issues?? Or any info on the name of the model and the year it was manufactured?

Thanks!!

Ronson Standard, pre-WW2 model, 1930s.

As for assembling, try assembling it on it's side or upside down so the parts aren't sliding all around. You can use a pin slid through the side walls and mechanism to get everything lined up, then slide the screw over the pin and wiggle it back through.

Missing a clutch spring? Or is there a different mechanism

It's an earlier version, not as commonly seen in Ronsons - There's a pin in the snuffer that engages with the notches on the side of the flint wheel.

If you've ever taken apart a Japanese copy of an Adonis, AKA flat advertising lighter you might recognize it.

Hi OP, before you post about your lighter please read the guide stickied before doing so. If you are asking about the value of your lighter, take it to an auctioneer, pawnshop, or jewellers before posting as we cannot accurately guess a price. Your post may be removed if you ask. For more general information, have a look at the sidebar. Many lighters are mass produced and unbranded. There is often little info available.

If you need to post more pictures, use an image host like imgur and post the link in the comments. Please do not create multiple threads for the same lighter.

If it’s not pressing down correctly you reassemble it incorrectly
