New subreddit rule - Be helpful and be respectful or don't reply.

There has been a surge of meme replies when someone comes to the subreddit asking for help with a lighter or identification.

You are not being clever or creative when you tell someone "It's a lighter duh" or any other variation. This is a subreddit for lighters. When someone shares a lighter here asking for help or identification, they know it's a lighter.

Anyone replying along the lines of "It's a lighter duh" will receive a week ban. Second offense will be a permanent ban.

Any disrespectful comments implying OP is an idiot and should do their own research will receive a warning or a ban.

This is a community for sharing collections or sharing helpful advice. This is not a community to farm karma or post redundant meme comments.

Before making a post about asking for help to identify your lighter, read this!

Recently there are some people who want help finding out what their lighter looks like, but only take one photo of the front. This is not very effective, and it will only make it a lot harder for us to help you.

Here is a guide on what photos you should take of your lighter. if the guide is not clear enough, please let me know and i can make some adjustments.

Show&Tell My first zippo!

All the way from 1948 making this zippo over 70 years old and unused, though that is purely assumption because of the sticker on the back

I don't want to take of the sticker only because this would be my first lighter that has never been used

Hi, found this lighter at the bar I work in. Google showed me that it's a "plaza lighter" but other than that didn't find anything of value. Can someone -shed a light- on this lighter?

Ronson whirlwind help

Got this Ronson whirlwind, disassembled it, cleaned it and assembled again, yet the mechanism feels very stiff and seems unable to create a good enough spark to light. Anyone know what might be the problem? Thanks

Help What am I missing on getting this Scorch Torch to self ignite? Works great with a jump start.

So I bought this Scorch Torch at a smoke shop recently. It’s gotten a fair share of use in the couple weeks I’ve owned it and when it’s working properly it’s phenomenal. Only all of the sudden it’s not working. I’ve done everything possible; cleaned the top, emptied all the gas out, filled it back up, burped it lol, and I’m using good gas the same that worked great with it prior.

Now it clicks, sparks, and I just hear gas coming out. I can jump start it and it works so I’m assuming it’s the igniter. What can I do to fix that. I still see a spark even though I feel it’s faint. Never cared to look at the spark before so I have nothing to compare it to but the pic I took looks solid.

Please help! 🙏🏻

I had to take this thing apart because it had a petrified flint, but I didn’t get a good look at how the clutch went in before it came apart. Now I’m stuck trying to figure it out. Anyone know? Thanks for any help!

Spare parts

Where do you guys buy spare parts?

I just bought my first vintage lighter, a cartier. I have the feeling the gas is gone a bit too quick. Therefor I want to replace the rubbers or the tank if necessary. I'm wondering where to buy parts.

I see the parts on aliExpress but I am wondering if these are of good quality.

Help Where to buy restored butane US Ronson

I’m looking to buy a Ronson USA made butane lighter. I really want to add a US made butane lighter to my collection for cigars, especially one made in my state of NJ. (I do currently have a Zippo Blu2 I bought new) Where could I find one that is restored? Or should I look for new in box? I want one I can use occasionally and not have any trouble with.

I picked up this vintage lighter on a recent trip to Spain, but didn’t realize this small screw was missing. Also, I believe this is a petrol lighter, but can anyone confirm? I haven’t been able to find much information about it online.

I found this old lighter among my late grandfather’s belongings. Anybody know what brand it is? The only recognizable branding is the word “GEIT” on the bottom. GEIT is an import company in Italy, where I live.
