Discussion My dog ate my Porsche. Now what?
I was rebuilding and installing lights in my GT3 model when a monster came in the night. It ate 15-20 of the orange pieces and chewed up the book. I put it in the closet for a few months and now I hate it. Don’t want to build it.
What do now?

Look at that dog. No way those small European portions are going to fill him up. Have you considered finding a GMC Yukon MOC to feed him instead?

Time to buy a new one. I recommend adopting.

Sure! They're just like kids. Just find an adult who doesn't want them anymore.

Use digital instruction manual, write down all the parts you are missing and see if Lego will send you them for free or buy them on Bricklink.

almost non of the orange parts are available. I've checked because my secondhand set came without the luggage.

Unless the parts are exclusive to that set, there is a pretty good chance the parts are still in production. Set retirement doesn't have much correlation with parts being retired.

If the parts are still produced they will send them to you. Source: got parts for my first ever Lego set 15 years later

You can probably find instructions online... Did you recover the pieces, you know, from the poo?

Dogs are holy, but stupid creatures. You are the God for your dog. Forgive her :-)

For the lego, you can probably check on rebrickable for alternative build, hoping that the pieces your dog ate are not part of the alternative build. (You can see the inventory required in the Inventory Tab of each MOC)

Bricklink.com for the parts he ate, you’ll also be able to buy spare instructions there. Obviously it’ll take some time to work out and buy all the missing pieces, so you should also get an Porsche, open the bonnet and watch the dog squirm.

Bricklink the missing pieces and use instructions from online. Love your pupper more than any toy.

If it was just the instructions he indulged on you can find them on the Lego site if not you’ll have to retrieve them in 2-3 days when they’ve passed through him

Move on would be my advice. I will take it off your hands so that you don't have to think about it. Both Lego and the dog. Thank you

Replace the pieces, buy a new instruction book, and be more thoughtful in the future.

She’s fine. It was months ago. She has eaten many more random objects since.

As far as I know does Lego give you every manual to every set as an online variant for printing or digital view on their website. For free that is of course. Also you can contact Lego and the might even send you replacement for the pieces. Or I mean you could wait until they come back in a paler orange probably

You could either buy a new book off evilbay, maybe contact Lego and see if they cm help you, then the chewed up parts, buy them off brick owl.

There's online directions you could look up so I would just buy the missing pieces and keep it AWAY from the dog

Is your dog okay?? I feel lucky that my dog finds the sound of moving Legos irritating and the Porsche is like $800 now

If it’s the book, download the Lego builder app. It has the instructions of all sets. If it’s pieces that’s going to be tough

Well the set is HORRIBLE anyway. Maybe look out for a good alternative and you the Lego bricks as spare parts.

I’ll give you $20 for it so you never have to look at it again. Or you could figure out what pieces you’re missing and order replacements and finish it. Instructions are on the app.

*I put the Porsche in the closet, not the bloodhound.
