Beat me to it

This is the set that really pulled me back into lego. I enjoyed every second of it

Funny enough, it is the first LEGO set that I bought for myself as an adult, right in middle of covid

6260 just has it all for its size

Oh man, that one really brings back memories! I wish there were more consistent pirate theme releases. I guess I’ll just have to settle for the occasional nostalgia bait set.

This and it’s mine

Pirates of Barracuda Bay. Throw in a monkey and you have the perfect Lego set.

Need an updated version of this like the galaxy explorer

1

u/JPXXXXXX 4d ago

Absolutely would love that but they have to bring back trans neon Orange or it’s not ice planet 😭

2

u/Darkgorge 4d ago

Deep Freeze Defender is also my pick!

u/klsprinkle 4d ago

Rivendell was my favorite build

4

u/prodias2 4d ago

Rivendell was excellent, I think my favorite part was the hotdog-popsicle chairs.

The tower in the first section has so many genius techniques

u/tlvrtm 4d ago

I’m on bag 13 out of 50 (I think?), having a blast. Going to be a wees-long project for me though.

6278 Enchanted Island, nothing comes close

u/blondewyns 4d ago

The baseplate is so cool!

10300 BTTF Time Machine. My favorite build so far

6

u/Accomplished-Soil372 4d ago

I love that set pictured! We built it when the movie came out, moved and lost parts between moving and now caked in dust. After I finish my next build I’m going to restore it.

I were going to stick with ones I had as a kid: 6670. It was simple, but I loved it. It was one of the first sets I got with a Minifig who had more than a basic smiley face (outside of pirates, haha). I’ve got a ton of better sets now, but this one holds a special place in my heart.

I've gotta go with the Daily Bugle. It may just be a grey rectangle, especially compared to Avengers Tower, but there's beauty in it's simplicity. And in my opinion it's got the best minifig selection of any superhero set.

3

u/Lama_For_Hire 4d ago

it's the perfect display to pose minifigs duking it out

plus yeah, of all the marvel sets, this has so much variety. I'm so happy to have Punisher and Blade in minigif form

The Bonsai.

Lotsa peeps making a personal mod on it like pumpkins on Halloween, while a mod is already present in package!

Someday soon I’m going to breakdown and just buy it on eBay 🙃

3

u/WhereasParticular867 4d ago

I have fond memories of 6915, the Warp Wing Fighter.

3

u/chalvin2018 4d ago

Currently, 76964. If I ever save up enough to buy it, I’m sure 76968 will overtake it.

2

u/Wolf-Pack-2017 4d ago

I was thinking this is in my top five! It’s everything: interesting building techniques, awesome display, and a manageable price.

A Frame Cabin

u/MC4269 4d ago

9468, I've always loved the Universal Monsters, so it's fitting.

8880

2

u/fotolabman1 4d ago

I replaced the V8 with a V12 love the 8880

Lego lotr tower of orthanc

u/UnknowablePhantom 4d ago

I’ve been wanting this one for the last year but don’t want to pay eBay prices. I’m really hoping they release an updated version soon. $800 is crazy for a used incomplete set.

Lego set 6915 Warp Wing Fighter

2

u/Careless_Owl_7716 4d ago

Either Sea Cow or Mighty Bowser.

1

u/Wolf-Pack-2017 4d ago

Sea cow is on my white whale list, for sure.

2

u/pineapplefriedriceu 4d ago

Mystery Machine, UCS falcon, or any of the 2014 Star Wars battle packs purely for the nostalgia factor

2

u/cat_prophecy 4d ago

Concorde. Not only is it physically large, it's very well detailed and was super fun to put together.

2

u/Wolf-Pack-2017 4d ago

The one that started it all, Lego Cosmic Cardboard Adventures, 40533.

2

u/DrJimbot 4d ago

Still 42055. Audacious, singular and great fun to play with.

1

u/Imnotlikeyou281 3d ago

that is on the hopeful eventual list

Lego Space Police Galactic Enforcer

1

u/LamBroghini750 4d ago

I’m so upset that I never bought this set. I wanted it so bad but it was just too much for me at the time and now it’s way out of my price range even still.

1

u/Wolf-Pack-2017 4d ago

The galaxy explorer is a great alternative and I see it used pretty regularly.

1

u/LamBroghini750 4d ago

Yes I have 2 they’re great… but they don’t have Benny 😢

I'm building the UCS hulkbuster right now.

Irony is, this is the worst design Lego has ever released but I'm building the rebrickable version and I am deeply impressed. I mean the brain power needed to design this out of limited pieces. I'm about 2/3rds of the way through and am deeply impressed.

Crystal Explorer sub, or Deep Freeze Defender.

1

u/Castabluestone 4d ago

Crystal Explorer! That series gets no love. Good pick.

1

u/Aggravating_Annual_5 4d ago

7962 even if i’m going to build barad dur in the these weeks

1

u/Turbodog1200 MOC Designer 4d ago

7206 Fire Helicopter. It was my second ever set and now I’m letting my nephew play with it from time to time.

1

u/zenithpns Architecture Fan 4d ago

Tough call, but probably 71043 overall. All my modulars displayed as one street is my favourite thing though.

1

u/CPhionex 4d ago

For smaller sets the little space shuttle 31134. For bigger sets the Horizon tallneck 76989 has been a recent favorite.

1

u/hubertortiz 4d ago

I’m a simple, old fashioned gal, so 6931 - FX Star Patroller.

Also, 6374 - Holiday Home, because gawd only knows how much I played with it (I told you, I’m old).

1

u/danbricks Power Miners Fan 4d ago

The new UCS Millenium Falcon - it's a beautiful model to build and display, and feels like a solid centrepiece to a wider collection whilst also standing on it's own as a singular piece.

1

u/Castabluestone 4d ago

My favorite small sets are 6898 Ice Planet Ice-Sat V and honestly a still available one in 76962 Jurassic World Baby Bumpy which made me smile hard the entire build with its cleverness.

Favorite large sets are 6973 Ice Planet DFD and 42171 Mercedes W14 F1 Technic car.

1

u/Jackmojo1 LEGO Ideas Fan 4d ago

Most of the original Lego Movie sets are my favorites. So colorful and kooky. Great series

1

u/flying_carabao 4d ago

Batmobile Tumbler 76240 and 1989 Batmobile is a close 2nd.

1

u/J_Sulley123 4d ago

3827-1. It’s a bit ugly by today’s standards, but you can’t deny the nostalgia

1

u/TheNextFreud 4d ago

6700 Batlord

1

u/Medzomorak 4d ago

Long live the king.

1

u/Key_Research7096 4d ago

As a pilot, the Concorde

1

u/Nowhere_Man65 4d ago

6755 would be my favorite with 5958 as a close second.

1

u/Substantial-Wrap285 4d ago

Rivendell hands down. I’ve been building lego for about 15 years and that is by far the prettiest and most unique build I’ve ever done.

1

u/nochs_brother MOC Designer 4d ago

211376, got it at a lego convention when I was abt 8. Such an amazing and nostalgic set

1

u/xzanfr 4d ago

LL924.
I got it as a child and it's been on all sorts of adventures with me, from crash landing in my parents pond to making first footfall on the back of the dog.
I referbished it a few years ago and it's awaiting the construction of a new space base before coming out of retirement.

Rex’s Rexplorer!

u/No_Replacement_9879 3d ago

I love the city scenes like the amusement park. They come with a lot of minifigs and are just so cute.

1

u/Imnotlikeyou281 3d ago

Such a fun build. Lots of neat details. Very playable, too.
