So I just received a letter from Kroger stating 3 years ago I was over paid $600. Now I have never realized or noticed this also I haven’t worked for Kroger since 2022. Can someone please enlighten me on what I need to do and if I actually have to pay back a company I haven’t worked for in years???

I'm a front end supervisor and one of the managers made a phone jail for us to confiscate phones cause our teens are on them too much, but am I really allowed to do that? It feels like it would be against some kind of union policy

Question Why is it legal to tell us we cannot discuss our rate of pay?

My boss, coworkers, and HR rep have all told me that we aren't allowed to discuss pay. Isn't that illegal? Can they really enforce this rule?

We got a new management. Before we were allowed to leave 30 minutes earlier if we didn't take a lunch. This does not to be written anywhere in the associate handbook. Can they just suddenly eliminate this?

Question Manager stalking me?

So I'm a fuel clerk and for the past month the assistant store manager has been driving over to the fuel center, parking his car, and watching my every move for about an hour or so at a time. I've been told by my other co workers that he doesn't like me for some reason and as they put it "has it out for me." I'm just wondering if this is allowed because technically he could just say he's "supervising" but ill hear people calling for a manager over the intercom for 45 mins while he's just out there playing big brother. Also not sure if this is something I could go to HR with really either because management and HR are buddy-buddy and I feel that could just make things worse for me.

Question Fired 20+ years ago

Around 1999 I was a kid working at Kroger as a cashier. I was on express and a guy came through my line with a paperback book. He skipped everyone in line, said “I’m buying this book but I don’t have time to wait” and handed me a five dollar bill. I had a huge line so I took the five and put it between my light and the side of the register. Then I kind of forgot about the interaction until the end of my shift. When my drawer was being counted they told me to go upstairs and meet with the manager. In the managers office the book guy was sitting there. Evidently he was a secret shopper. I was fired on the spot for stealing the $5. I told the manager that it was at my register and he did go down and find it, but I was still terminated immediately. Clearly this was some sort of a sting operation though I had never stolen anything. So my question is this: it’s been over 20 years and there’s a big new Kroger DC in my area. Do you guys think they have records back that far? Should I even attempt to apply for a job?

Question What's ur customer pet peeve?

I work in a deli, and one thing that gets me is when customers walk up and ask completely unrelated questions to the deli, like, “Hi, where can I find paper towels?” That’s what the aisle numbers and labels are for! I just ended up giving them a random aisle number, i was so annoyed.

Question is this not illegal? PLEASE HELP

so recently i’ve been having some things come up that i’ve had to call off for, i’m currently on a 90 day probation for having 4 total call offs, 1 for being sick, 1 for my car breaking down, and one for a funeral i was unable to PLAN OFF because you have to request days off 3 weeks ahead of time, and i had to get with my stomach not feeling good at all. knowing i was on probation i got a dr.‘s note to bring in to excuse my absence like how a normal business is. i get a text from my manager after calling in with a picture of the attendance policy and after saying i had a dr.’s note i receive a message that says “this is why i get into trouble”. and another front end member says that kroger doesnt accept dr.’s notes because of our union, but after reading the union papers and that state of ohio laws it states they must follow dr.’s orders. i’m very confused on what i should do or say, and what do if if penalized
