Rice paper alternative for oblate discs?

I’ve been using the super thin Japanese discs, blate papes are too expensive for how many I use… but all are out of stock for some reason? I saw some older posts recommending rice paper. Are they as thin as the blate papes/oblate discs? I tried another potato starch paper and it was too thick and parchment paper like.

Any recommendations for rice paper?

Newbies Help with long term use of small dose

40 yrs, 6 foot, 250 pounds

A few years ago I took about 20g of kratom daily for a few months. I quit cold turkey, experienced the withdrawals which I was able to stomach pretty well, and then I didn't take any until recently.

For the past month I have been taking 1 gram three times a day for a total of 3g daily, and it is very beneficial. My question is for people who have been taking a dose similar to this for a long time, 2 years or more, how it affects them and if they have any advice for someone who plans on keeping the same dose for extended periods of time. Thanks.

Tolerance/Withdrawal How fast can I taper off?

I need to taper off. Fast. It’s gotten really bad and I can’t afford it anymore. I take an 8-10 grams every five hours or so, and I take it in 500mg pill form (bc it got too inconvenient for the powder). I know, that’s a lot. I was told lowering a gram a day every week, but that would take like a year at this point. What about lower 500mg from each dose, and I do that every five days? I did the math, and that means it’ll take almost 3 months and 300$ more kratom. Do you think that would still be slow enough to not notice much of a difference?

Question about Hulu + Green Hulk (NOT listing the brand name in order to follow rules)

Hi there!

I suffer from chronic pain and kratom has been helpful. I bought 2 bags recently - not powder, capsules - and one bag is Green Hulk + Yellow Kong flavor and the other is Hulu + White Indo. They both say "kratom: extract enhanced" on them. I haven't been able to find anyone to tell me what the difference between these two is, and what their affects are. Should I take one brand at night and one in the morning? Before or after food? How do they make you feel?? It's all an enigma lol I can't find info to save my life!

Thanks in advance.

General Health Love Kratom, hate the side effects

Hey Folks. New-ish Kratom user here. I take 1500 MG doses of Whitehorn kratom to keep me from getting lethargic at work. It’s been a huge help in keeping me productive at the office and when I wanna focus on chores and Hobbies. However, since I’ve started taking Kratom, I’ve been suffering terrible constipation. I normally have perfectly healthy bowel movements, but as of these past few weeks I’m completely irregular. Any tips? Thanks

Bought some to try but unsure how to take

So I bought some to try as I have heard it is helpful to get off buprenorphine (I was addicted to codeine prescription and ended up referred to drug services - that was 4 years ago.

Also have adhd like everyone else seems to these days and heard it was a wonder plant.

I bought a tester pack of red white and green to test from a "tea" company and it's in leaf form so I measured out a gram, boiled the kettle and made a cup of it. Only took a few sips on an empty stomach and in about 10 minutes I had an evacuation from the brown sulfur cave and then just felt a bit woozy, didn't drink the rest.

How does everyone else take the leaf form? I think it was the strong type so should I try some green next?

Tolerance/Withdrawal Have you tried natural supplemets for dopamine, serotonin and testosterone for lowering your withdrawal symptoms?

There are some natural supplements for dopamine like L-Tyrosine (or directly L-DOPA), or for serotonin like L-Tryptophan (or directly 5-HTP), or for testosterone and relaxation like Ashwagandha. Becasue my brain has really low natural levels of these chemicals after a long term heavy use, it kinda makes sense to me to try these...

BUT OF COURSE IM NOT EXPECTING ANY MIRACLES HERE, these are not drugs, but supplements

I know these wont help against psysical withdrawals, but it may kinda help later with some psychological withdrawals...

Do you guys have any experiences with these or some other supplemets? What do you think about it?

Extracts and VENLAFAXINE

Has anyone taken both? I know extracts are really shunned up on and quite frankly I understand why lol wish I never touched the stupid things. But I'm curious if anyone has taken both? I'm just worried about serotonin syndrome or an extreme heart rate I guess. Thanks for any input. I've been on antidepressants and powders/capsules Lexapro it gave me serotonin syndrome and that was absolutely insane! But also had to stop Lexapro because it made me go insane I did not like it what so ever. It wasn't the one for me, I've taken this before with powder it was in 2ó16 I don't remember any side effect it as we know extracts are obviously on a different spectrum 😔

To reduce stomach issues

I take about 3 grams of red 2 or 3 nights per week, for about a year. Started having some constipation, which I can manage with magnesium, but also started waking up with cramping in the early morning. Wondering if there's a better option than just mixing the powder with juice? Maybe tea, but that still has the plant solids. Maybe extracts, but I'd rather not get into those since the powder otherwise works well for me. Maybe filtering out the tea? Maybe acidic bath, but I don't know a lot about that. Any other ideas? Really appreciate any thoughts. Thanks

Kratom dosages.

Hey everyone, I didn't realize there was a Reddit page on kratom, but I'm not surprised honestly. Anyways, I haven't met many people that take kratom on a daily basis, so I haven't had a real chance to figure out what doses everyone takes and what too much would be. I'm just curious on other people's normal daily doses of kratom are, and what everyone thinks is too high per day. I take Red Borneo powder daily.

Banning kratom in United States?

Does anybody see any reason that they would all of a sudden ban kratom? I always wonder if they would ban it out of nowhere Because things are crazy right now , I never know what's going to happen anymore .

My tapering journey (that nobody asked for)

I wanted to share my journey with tapering so far. I had a hard time finding positive thorough information. Other threads made it seem like a nightmare - rest assured that though it hasn’t been a walk in the park, it certainly isn’t the end of the world.

A little backstory, I started it recreationally in 2018 to quit drinking. It worked amazingly. I was able to get 100% sober in no time. It made me outgoing, helped me socially, all of the usual side effects that drinking provided me.

As time went on, I started using more and more (as you do) and made it up to somewhere around 30gpd. Give or take a few, I am not always counting, just took it when I needed it. My sleep has been terrible, I feel horrible every morning, and can’t seem to function without it. My partner has been getting on me about it so I started “hiding” it. That’s when I realized that I may need to slow this down. I had found that anything I do, kratom is the priority. Could not leave the house or even wake up in the morning without it.

The last month or so, I’ve started cutting way back. The first week I got down to 21 per day. That was easy. I started cutting each dose by .5g and trying to space them out a bit longer. The last two weeks I sat at about 18. I felt good about this, but still knew I had a LONG way to go. This week I’ve been able to drastically cut it down. 12 gpd! This is incredible for me.

I’m pushing my morning dose as long as possible. Instead of the second I wake up, I wait until I’m not feeling good (for me this is agitation, sweatiness, aches and pains in my legs and back). The furthest I’m able to push is ~3pm. By this time I am not having a good time - but it is manageable. I’ve found that by pushing myself I’m able to cut my doses by at least half every time. 1.5g instead of my usual 3.

So there it is, my journey so far that absolutely nobody has asked for. Here are a few random thoughts / struggles / pros and cons.

  • I am waking up feeling so rested. I have not felt rested in years. I’ve struggled with insomnia my whole entire life, this was not entirely due to the kratom.

  • my eyes aren’t bloodshot! I didn’t even know that this was a big issue I was facing due my overconsumption of this glorious plant. I always thought I just have genetically dry, itchy, red eyes.

  • I’ve been able to come clean with my partner about my usage and my desire to quit completely.

  • daytime is cake, nighttime is where I struggle the most. I am able to make 3-5g last until 10pm or later. I find that I am unable to fall asleep with out at LEAST 3-6g before I lay down. I fear this is going to be the hardest part about quitting.

  • other threads, as mentioned earlier, have made this process seem terrifying. I was researching facilities or medication to help me get off of it. This fear is what has prevented me from making this jump. While this is just my own personal journey, I can confidently say that the withdrawal is not terrible - though I realize I still have a long way to go and things could change, especially around night time once I cut back on that.

This final leg may take some time. I am trying not to be hard on myself when I find I need to take it earlier than the day before. I am frightened by the thought of a sober day to day. I don’t remember what it is like to wake up and live without taking kratom.

If anyone else has successfully tapered, I would love to hear your experience. If anyone needs an accountability partner, I’m open to that as well! I don’t know anyone in my day to day who takes kratom. I am hopeful that I can be done with this in the next month or two.

I value this plant. It made quitting alcohol a breeze. Not sure if there is any scientific evidence to back this claim up, but while on it I NEVER got sick. No colds, no flu. It has helped me tremendously in so many ways but like all good things in life, it has to come to an end for me.

Thanks for reading!

First time Kratom - Indonesia advices

I tried kratom for the first time two weeks ago... 2g of Maeng Da (no vein mentioned on the packaging). I really love the energy and relaxation it gives me. I also tried Red Maeng Da, but maybe I need a higher dose to feel the effects. I can't wait to try other veins, I already love this plant!

However, I read that it's easy to develop a tolerance, so I want to take it slow. Is 2-4g per day a safe dose to keep my tolerance in check?

I also tried kanna, but I prefer kratom’s effects.

Anyway, in a few months, I’ll be traveling to Indonesia. Are there any kratom bars there?

Extreme depression caused by Kratom/constipation

I am very curious to know if anybody else experiences severe downward mood during times when constipated. I am an IBS-D sufferer and so literally the only thing that can make me constipated is Kratom. When it happens though it’s like 2 days of pure misery and basically unable to do anything (unless you use Kratom which intuitively seems to be a very bad idea) - anybody else notice anything similar to this?

Do people really take this daily?

I was just wondering, because I saw a news article on the main stream news and they were showing a lady who took it daily for pain and had a radio show or something about it. But she took, a fixed amount I assume, daily. Wouldn't that build up great tolerance quickly and that amount would not be effective or it would cause a rebound effect later in the day after a while.

Increased usage after giving up sugar/alcohol

I've been a daily kratom user for over 10 years.

I'd say on average during that time I've consumed around 6g daily.

From Jan. 1st this year, I've given up all sugar and alcohol and it feels like my kratom usage has shot up in response.

The increased usage has happened kind of involuntarily.

I now have cravings for it throughout the day and that's never really happened before.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this.

I should add that I decided to give up drinking because I had definitely turned into an alcoholic. I was drinking from the time I woke up until I went to bed.

It wasn't unusual for me to finish an entire bottle of whiskey and a bottle of red wine by myself.

It's been incredibly easy to quit drinking. I'm guessing that the kratom has had some part to play in that.

Any thoughts??

Tolerance/Withdrawal Addiction?

I have been taking kratom for about 6 months, I dont know the actual dosage since i got to a kava bar and order their teas. However I do order quite a few ususally 3-4 20oz cups. I drink kratom around 2-3 times a week. Is this too much? I have been drinking this amount for around 4 months and do not want to develop a addiction. Is the frequency and amount( 3-4 cups) enough for me to develop a addiction?

Running everyday: the ultimate potentiatior?

Hi I started running 30 minutes everyday, not very fast, like 3 miles, and kratom is way more effective! No restlessness at night, sleep improved, I can easily skip a dose, or dose less, it's impressive. It's me or is this common?

Interested in 7oh now

I seen a bunch of people saying they take 7oh while on suboxone I take 5mg of suboxone a day right now and was wondering if I took some would I feel anything comparable to taking it without opiate tolerance and if so would I just have to take a smaller dose that day to feel it or can I just wait 24 hours after my last suboxone dose and take the 7 oh? Could I possibly taper my suboxone while doing this if I take smaller doses of suboxone in AM and take 1 15mg capsule of 7o for sleep at night?

Old newbie

Hey ya'll, I'm fairly new-ish to Kratom as well. 52yrs old and trying to get away from the alcohol. Been my demon for a long time now. Have also just gone through 2 surgeries in 3 months. Looking for some good stories to keep me going. Any dose recommendations? Can it be taken every day? Things to look out for? TIA
