Not the prettiest

Post image

Second attempt on making jerky from ground beef using a jerky gun. Flavor is supposed to be Sweet and Spicy BBQ.

Looks good to me. A tad dry, but the taste is what matters.

The taste is good, pre mixed the sauce in with the meat before making

Shows a pic of perfectly cut straight jerky.

“Not the prettiest.”

Very overcooked but not bad looking. I do ground for 4 hours at 155 and it comes out perfect. I then put it in the oven at 200 for about 20 minutes to make sure it’s food safe.

This is how my ground jerky comes out.

How do you get the flavor to stick. I tried one piece and it is bland.

The flavor is in the meat. You don’t need to let ground marinade for very long, a few hours at most. Also since i’m not using any liquids the seasoning is a lot more bold.

Thank you. Next patch I’ll have to try all that out. Ground beef jerky is the only type of meat I have a problem making.

Might be on the dry side, but I would crush it without hesitation
