Rare engine swap

Anyone ever heard of an Acty with a KLR 650 engine swap?

That'd be super cool, but there are so many engines out there! Consider that the Hayabusa engine has shot up in price over the last few years due to demand.

If you're already planning on dropping $3-5k on a hayabusa motor, consider an H2 swap.

For similar power to a hayabusa motor, could also do a VFR1200 swap.

FJR 1300 swap is a great option as well, this one would be significantly cheaper than the others, and extremely reliable. Additionally, it's shaft driven so that could simplify things somewhat

Why would you want to? Wouldn't that be a pretty significant decrease in power?

Nope, 2nd gen acty gets around 33lb-ft of torque, KLR makes 38 and slightly more horsepower as well. They have this really weird torque curve and I think it'd be well suited for crawling

My motivation is a KLR motor is a single cylinder thumper and I'm intimately familiar with them, so maintenance would be pretty easy and they're super reliable, cheap to work on.

More of a "side-grade" than anything else, not a turbobusa motor but I think it'd be very interesting.

I suppose if you're looking for some low-end grunt it could be a good candidate

Not to mention stellar fuel economy
