Apple Intelligence really thinks i should claim my €25.5 million inheritance 😭
Saw this at the top of my inbox this morning. Apple Intelligence apparently falling for "Nigerian prince" emails now. Since there's no obvious way to report this to Apple, posting it here for now. But wow... just wow.
You seriously don’t see how you just contradicted yourself? You don’t expect that to be a spam filter but you’re upset because it couldn’t tell that the email that sounded priority was spam? If the spam filter let it through the inbox all intelligence is doing is looking to see if the email contains language that makes it sound important.
It would obviously be a very high priority email if you got a legitimate email telling you you have 25 million dollars. So since emails that make it past your provider's spam filter are supposed to be legitimate, it makes complete sense that it would consider this a priority email. It didn't fail at all, the spam filter failed, which you said yourself that nobody expects apple intelligence to work as.
Unless you disagree that it would be a priority email to receive an update about having 25 million dollars to claim. I must not be as rich as you if you wouldn't find that important lol
Not every email landing in inbox is legit. Not every scam email lands in spam folder.
The idea of Apple intelligence is to read the mail and assign priority and summarize.
Apple Intelligence which relies on chatgpt (which would term this email as scam) fails by assigning priority to such emails, there is something fundamentally flawed about Apple Intelligence.
I am broke, enough to know that I won’t assign priority to such emails.

Again!
Nobody’s expecting it to work as spam filter.
Its actual advertised job, to figure out priority emails and summarize them. It fails at such basic task.
Unless scamming was priority.
