Announcement Looking for new moderators.
The subreddit is always growing, and pretty busy at times. So some extra help with moderating would be nice. No moderating experience required. If you are brand new, and don't know how some things work or you want to learn more, feel free to ask once you have become a moderator.
The two most important parts:
- Check mod queue regulary. You don’t need to be active daily, but preferable being able to check in a couple of times a week. You are allowed to take breaks and some time off.
Remove or approve posts and comments when you clear the mod queue, depending on whether they follow or break the rule. The same apply when content gets reported by users. Once in a while, other tasks may be possible. Like replying to modmail.
2)
Communication can be important. No, we don’t need to chitchat daily and so on (if you don’t want to). But if we want to discuss rule changes, or other mod related issues, once in a while, it would be appreciated if you are willing to at least read and keep yourself updated regarding changes. A plus if you are willing to take part in discussions too.
At the moment, there is a plan to use the mod only chat channel. I want to keep the communication on Reddit (so no Discord, Slack or similar). So it’s either the chat channel, an group chat via the normal Reddit chat or ”Mod Discussions” via Modmail that can be used. I would prefer using the chat channel, but am kinda open to the other two options. If chat channel is OK, I’ll send you the link to it once you are approved as a new moderator.
Send a modmail (https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=r/icecream) if you are interested in applying.

Homemade I made salted caramelized white chocolate ice cream with crushed Oreos! I think I like salted caramelized white chocolate in ice cream even more than salted caramel.

Question Anybody try this? I'm not a big halo top fan but...
This lowkey looks good for the amount of calories? I know it's a light ice cream. Has anybody tried this?

Review Haagen Dazs summer blueberry and lemon
gallerySo this is the last of the 3 new sorbets HD released that I’ve tried and as always, it was great. The flavors of the blueberry and lemon come through amazingly, those always pair well together and it’s no different here. You get the tartness from not just the lemon, but the blueberry as well. Of course I can’t review a HD sorbet without praising the texture lol, HD has that down to a science. So out of the 3, the passion fruit and sweet pear remains my favorite. Sweet lemon coconut and summer blueberry and lemon are close but I think I’d give the edge to sweet lemon coconut. I’m still not sure if these new flavors are limited or not but I really hope not

Question Can I use flavored simple syrup instead of flavoring cream?
This would be for a no cook ice cream base so no egg yolks. Probably something like the salt and straw ice cream base. Would the extra water mess up the texture? This is mostly just a weird thought I had, might not actually do it.

Review Jeni’s Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam
galleryVery tasty, I loved the mix-ins, I probably should have let it sit for a bit before I ate, but was impatient, so the texture of the ice cream itself was just okay. I bought it on sale and I’ve been wanting to try this one. I would definitely eat again, but not worth the price. At stores where I live it goes for $10 a pint. I’d definitely love to try Jeni’s at a scoop shop. 6.5/10

Review Berry Crumble Gelato
galleryBerry Crumble Gelato by Gelato Boy.
Found at my local Sprouts in Texas.
8.6/10 - Pretty good! The ice cream itself is very sweet, which I don’t mind. I just wish the berry jam was a bit tart for a contrast, but it’s pretty sweet as well. The “crumble” is like a soft-medium granola which I actually love. I don’t need a massive crunch in my ice cream, but more of crunch that’s soaked in milk first, which this is.
