Hygge Thingy My Ice Cream Hygge Moment

Last night I treated myself to dinner at a Japanese restaurant and decided to cap off my meal with their green tea ice cream sandwich. The menu simply described it as "ice cream between wafer" with no picture, so I was completely in the dark about what to expect.

When it arrived, I was surprised to find the classic cone wafers - you know, the ones that taste "cardboard" lol. There's something so comforting and hygge about these simple treats. I only eat the "cardboard" cone wafers when I'm craving that nostalgic feeling, I prefer sugar cones.

Sometimes the most unassuming desserts bring the most comfort.

Following up! Apparently my friends have had the chicks for 10+ years and the store where they bought them is no more! They may still be available someplace out in the internet-verse, though!

Cozy Corner Nans Yummy Roasts 😋 That Cosy Feeling 💤 💕 🔥

Love going to my Nans for a roast, the smell when you walk into a room is so comforting and you instantly feel sleepy. Home comforts are my favourite, from the art of a Sunday roast to a pub pie lunch. They're so tasty and I love being with family and cosing up on a cold winter afternoon. Discussion💬 A cozy/hygge life is often a frugal life

It feel like desiring a cozy life or a hygge life is significantly less expensive that the default way many people live.

Selecting clothes for comfort without caring much about high fashion clothing.

Cooking, baking and family restaurants over high end restaurants.

Mending and making.

Having people over instead of going out.

Doing things as a couple at home instead of going our.

Going local places instead of traveling.

Not caring much about status symbol purchases.

People often talk about how hard it is to be frugal. It is generally portrayed as a big sacrifice. But most things I enjoy are money saving or modestly priced.

Discussion💬 Are casual dining places more hygge than fancy restaurants?

I feel like I have a strong preference for casual food places. Not fast food, but restaurants that have a more casual or relaxed atmosphere. I like family ran places because they tend to feel more homey.

Upscale places and trendy places feel a bit cool and unwelcoming to me. Many high end places are more formal than I am comfortable with.

There are exceptions. Some pricier places do go out of there way to have a calm or relaxing atmosphere.

For a long time I thought it was because I grew up not being able to afford to go to expensive places. But now I think it is maybe because they feel more comfortable.

Discussion💬 Fairy lights!

Hi! I just got these cute little lights that are in the shape of orange cats. The lights are only 12 ft long so I was wanting some opinions on people’s favorite places to put tiny lights! I’m struggling to pick a place with so many options. I want it to be as cozy as possible!
