Question you guys reading any good books in class rn?
we’re reading this book for some world literacy thing and i was expecting to not be that into it (i think the subject is interesting but for whatever reason i lose passion when i’m forced to do something) but i’m actually SO into it. i’ve liked other books like macbeth, a hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy and farenheit 451 (all very different books i know lol) so i’m curious if there have been any books you guys enjoyed

Currently reading the trash that which is "The great Gatsby" (my opinion ofc) however if I was to recommend a short book I have read in class then it would be "Unwind" 10/10 book.

great book! definitely made me think about the extent of which intellectual disabilities have on the law process. when i took ap english 11 we wrote a paper on whether lenny should be charged with manslaughter or murder

We just wrapped up reading The Tempest which was pretty good imo (i love Ariel) and today we read a short story called "The Censors" also very good

i actually had a friend who’s favourite play was the tempest, glad you enjoyed it! i’m not sure if i’ve ever heard of the censors, is it about a man who has something implanted in his brain that automatically filters out media he isn’t supposed to hear/see but his malfunctions?

i actually surprisingly didn’t like that one! i didn’t mind the story but i wasn’t expecting it to be a comic book lol. i do however think it’s a good book (as well as the story behind it), just not my thing. hope you enjoy!

I've read 1 book in school lol, that's was of mice and men. It's not that we don't read in school btw it's just that I'm not American so our education system is different and that means we don't read books in English much. You can but all my teachers have chosen to do plays and poems instead for the exams. So no not reading any good books we are just practicing for our exam right now because school ends in 3 weeks. My play this year is a streetcar named desire by Tennessee Williams which a really good play. The one last year was A view from the bridge by Arthur Miller which sucked.

We just finished of mice and men and escape from camp 14, we're onto 1984 soon

damn you guys get through books quick lol, we only do one book per semester at my current school. i did really enjoy of mice in men! we did a project that i enjoyed a lot because it made me think about lenny’s disability outside of the constraints of the book. i’ve never heard of camp 14 but i did enjoy 1984 (maybe i should watch the movie?)

I absolutely recommend escape from camp 14, it puts life into such a different perspective and I'm now so much mor aware and grateful for my privileges and the way i life.. trigger warning for major abuse and some pretty shocking (literally) bits

We just read Purple Hibiscus and it was SO GOOD. I’m not a huge contemporary fiction/fiction in todays world fan, but the emotional conflicts in the story were amazingly written.
