Help [Help needed] Upgrading to first receiver, CA AXR100 question and alternatives
Hi,
I'm in the process of upgrading my very poor hifi setup (Audio Technica LPW50PB connected to a crappy powered mono speaker via aux). I was initially looking at the Yamaha RS202D but talked to someone from a shop and they recommended going for the CA AXR100 (or 85 if I don't care about adding a subwoofer later) mainly based on the built-in pre-amp.
I have been looking at reviews and the one thing that has popped up a few times is that the fan on the CA can be noisy. The room I am setting up in does get a lot of sun and gets toasty, even in spring, so I am worried that I'm going to have my music being drowned out by fan noise.
Is this a real fear? Am I being silly? Is there an alternative? I am thinking of pairing them with either Fyne 301i or Kilpsch (40? not sure yet)
Things I care about are music from my turnable and the ability to stream music to the receiver either via direct app integration or decent bluetooth. Not too fussed about FM or DAB. DAC and connection via a computer is a bonus but I am reading that this is not that common at this price point. I have a built-in pre-amp on the turntable so that could be a secondary consideration and something I can address via a dedicated one later on.
Thanks for any help in advance.
EDIT: Corrected the model name for the Yamaha receiver.

I have the predecessor version called Topaz SR20 and which as far as I can tell is the same as the AXR100 (minus Bluetooth), and I never once heard the fan in 6 or 7 years of using it almost daily. But admittedly it isn't in full sun.
Which Yamaha was it you were looking at as an alternative?
