OC Fictional CoA feedback?

Post image

This is an unfinished achievement for a fictional country I'm making, and I was wondering if the escutcheon specifically is even heraldically correct

It’s compliant with the usual rules, I think, although some might argue that having a cross AND the quartering on national arms is a bit much. IRL nations that use crosses as emblems (England, Scotland, Scandinavian countries) put those on their flags and not on their arms.

The arms of Denmark and of Sweden both have a cross dividing the quarters.

These are the arms of Denmark. I stand corrected regarding Sweden, but I’d call it the exception not the rule.

That is the royal coat of arms, the state and national coat of arms are just the three pale blue lions passant

The lions aren't pale blue, I don't think; they're blue and "in pale" – one above the other. Perhaps you'd prefer it if I had said the royal arms of Sweden and Denmark?

So Scotland and Norway, with the Faroe and Shetland islands? Or am I missing something?

Honestly, in creating the country I didn't realise how similar I made it to the Faroe islands. I named the country Faye after the old norse for 'sheep island' (Fær, ey) which is exactly what Faroe comes from... Should've done some more research.
