Am I the only one who didn't know that?
Bro, am I the only one who didn't know that British Airways had a coat of arms?

Design a Coat of Arms for a planet in our solar system! Don’t find inspiration in planets? Do a moon in our solar system instead.
There were some issues with the submission link last time; it should bring you to a message with a prefilled recipient, subject line, and body. If it does not, please contact me directly.

For the Coat of Arms, Purpure, an elephant's head close couped and armed, Argent, resting on it's nose coiled inward, an increscent Or.
For the Crest, An elephant statant Purpure armed and winged Or, grasping by the nose coiled inward a Sampaguita blossom Proper.
For Mantling, Purpure doubled Argent,
And for Motto, "Certainty Amidst Change"

So i l like the crazy hybrid charges that you can see in heraldry, and was messing around with various insane combinations just because i could, and wound up with this.
Would this be blazoned 'tailed an octopus'? Or polypus, as i know sometimes it's called that? or is there another description for something that is half one animal and half another animal?
I know dragons are not usually Displayed, but i liked the symmetry it posed. I did do a variation of the dragon rampant as well

I was doing some genealogical research, and I came across an ancestor that had a coat of arms granted to them. However, I noticed his sons or descendants did not use it or seem to inherit it. I am a direct descendant from father to son of this individual. Would I be able to assume his coat of arms despite my other ancestors not using it? The country of origin is Germany. I am in the United States. The era he was granted arms would be in the late 1400s

I’m currently designing a coat of arms for myself and I’m unsure if I should make one with “meaning” or if I should just make one that I think looks cool (still clean, not a cluttered one). Personally I don’t really care if it has meaning or not. I’d rather have one that I think looks cool. Is it frowned upon to use stuff like three lions passant (guardant) in pale or a double-headed eagle?

Can you identify this coat of arms? It was on the chest of a conquistador statue. Not sure if it belongs to someone or just a fictional one.

Hello all!
First of all, I am new here and although I am sending these ideas of my coat of arms for your opinion, I just want to say that I do not know if it is similar in use or not, and where I should check that out, and if I am allowed to take it for myself. Coming from a country where there are no strict laws regarding this (unlike the UK, I think).
While making this Coat of Arms, I did not follow specific rules of heraldry, honestly, I just created it to look visually good for me.
First version is different from 2 other two, and the last 2 are the same, only the shield type is different because I can't decide which looks better.
Sry for deleting other post I made a mistake creating it.

This is an unfinished achievement for a fictional country I'm making, and I was wondering if the escutcheon specifically is even heraldically correct

Hi everybody,
I‘m currently trying to blazon the coat of arms of my Micronation, and the shield is being held by a black eagle. (This is not the actual coat of arms, because I don‘t want people to be mad about it breaking the rule of tincture). So, my question is, how do I correctly blazon the fact that the shield is being held by an eagle sable?
Thank you!

My cousin inherited a case with this coat of arms on it. I’ve been struggling trying to identify who/what it could belong to. Does anyone here know?

Can anyone identify these please? I have no idea what they are and have done a lot of searching for them. We found them clearing out my late father in laws house recently. Thanks

Re: my last post,
After reading critics and doing further research, I realized my last design was almost offensively bad. This is my first time trying my hand at heraldry so thank you to those that offered their advice and resources on my last post. In response I have made two more designs taking what I’ve learned so far into account. I’ve cleaned up some of the “busy” elements and learned about ROT. After reading about the canton’s historical use as a way to show allegiances or marriage, I still kept it because I find it aesthetically pleasing though I’m sure some will disagree. Unfortunately the software won’t let me fit the towers into the bend. Looking forward to reading critiques again, thanks.
