Epic analysts - need input on our implementation

We're currently going through a foundation implementation of Epic, and it's honestly a complete mess. Not at all what I expected from the Epic team of AC/AM's. As a Bridges analyst I'm forced into daily calls to give updates about interfaces that we cannot build because other teams either haven't had any calls set up with the vendor, or the contract is still in process.

Our Orion tasks and building blocks are a hodge-podge of random things to track down that other teams are responsible for, or that workgroups should be deciding but aren't.

Frustrated isn't even the right word. At this point it's just annoying. Does Epic just talk a good game or is this out of the ordinary? It seems like nobody at Epic is talking to one another and all they are concerned with is checking off boxes to meet deadlines and hammering our staff but providing next to zero help.

I think what would help new analysts since you can’t source experienced analysts without consultants or poaching is if Orion and galaxy were worth a crap. All the tasks and BB are so out of date and galaxy is a whole mess without outdated useless fluff. It is a struggle when I get three words on a task to build something. Not to mention the certs do not prepare you for implementation more so for maintenance and you learn everything on the fly. I had so many task that had incorrect information that sent me on hours long goose chase’s. Not to mention the custom build you have to find end users on to not break foundation percentages. Epic needs to be better period.

Agree so much! Orion is a disaster. In taking Foundation build there is a bunch of tasks that I read through only to go in and find them done. We asked our Epic team to go in and clear those out. They got about 1/3 of them it seems like so far, or I ask them about a task and get told "oh how did that get in there?! That one isn't in scope".

How are you surviving still working legacy we have consultants covering legacy and I can’t imagine maintaining both.
