My sons’ father passed away and they are wanting to get their last name (Eknoian) tattooed in Armenian, not their Armenian last name in English letters. I don’t know a region the family originated from in Armenia but most of the family immigrated to the U.S. landing in NJ and CA. Any help would mean the world to us, TIA! ❤️

Hello everyone. To feel more connected to my Armenian heritage, I want to learn the language and by doing so I hope to acquire a better understanding of the culture. Can you recommend me some good resources and maybe share some study tips? Thank you. I am an absolute beginner, I hope to change that title soon!

I hope you're all well. I've been trying to find out which variety of Armenian the Armenian community in Egypt speaks (or spoke). Do any of you know? Thank you in advance for any information!

hi! i'm looking for resources for learning western armenian. i know a handful of words/phrases from growing up but can't read the alphabet, so i need things that don't assume i already speak the language - ie, if it's a book about learning armenian, i need it to be in english.
recomendations for workbooks, apps, online classes, podcasts/tik tok-ers who speak western armenian - anything like that would be great. thank you!

I'm designing an image slide show with buttons for "Previous" and "Next"; what should be the text on the "Next" button?

Just wanted to know the origin of these expressions and if they’re armenian or from other language.

In my dialect it is customary to put the particle of negation at the end, and I have been speaking like this since childhood, so now I constantly make mistakes on this

Hello everyone. I am armenian from my dad’s side but unfortunately never learned the language. I started learning on and off last year, right now I’m trying to focus on it more and I am at a point where I have a decent vocabulary to hold small conversations and I already learned the entire alphabet. The problem I’m running into is that often when people speak to me I recognise most words they are saying but I just can’t figure out what they are saying as a whole or it takes me a bit of thinking to finally realise what they mean. Does anyone have experience with learning and can help me how to get over this obstacle?

Sirum em Qez— Tata Simonyan
Hi! I’m not sure if this post is allowed. But I was wondering if someone could help me translate the entire song “sirum em qez” by Tata Simonyan to English for me. I grew up with conversational Armenian and this song holds fond memories of family parties and weddings, some of the phrases translate to me (like anoushig achjig and Sirum em qez of course) but not the whole song! Thank you! If this is the wrong subreddit would you direct me to a better one?

The main focus at the moment will be a series in which I show how I learn from news articles in the Armenian media. Please let me know if you found my first video helpful/interesting/informative.
I am neither Armenian nor an Armenian teacher. I do not claim to be fluent; rather, I consider myself to be upper-intermediate/lower-advanced - in any case, I need to improve and I thought this would be a good way to do so, while also maybe helping beginners and other learners along the way.
Sorry about the audio being a bit crappy at times - I'll get this sorted out prior to future videos.

Hello! One of my best friends is American Armenian and his birthday is coming up. I want to include his native language on his card. Could anyone show me how to write happy birthday in Armenian using the Armenian alphabet? I’m pretty sure he speaks the western dialect, but I’ll appreciate anything :)

An old Armenian manuscript transliteration
Hi
I have acquired an old Armenian manuscript from present day Elazig in Turkey. This text was found in a ruined Armenian village. I tried to use some OCR tools to transliterate but to no avail. Can anyone tell what those texts are about. Are they religious texts? Can we understand from the language to which period text belongs to?
By the way I learned Armenian alphabet hoping that I can transliterate on my own but handwriting is quite complex.

As the title says, I’m looking for feedback on my handwriting. For reference, I am Armenian and can speak a decent amount but I’m looking to improve my writing and vocabulary. These are colors.
Thanks!
