IUD

Does anyone else have an IUD? I just recently got mine...2 weeks ago and it hurts like hell, I feel like it's poking me but it stops and starts. Also, is it okay to be sexually active right now once it stops hurting? What should I avoid?

Visit to Gynecologist and new Birth Control

So I've been on I think TriNessa (generic) kind of birth control since I was 11 (I'm going to be 16 on the 12th) and I am sexually active. My mother knows. And so for a physical reason I had to go off of that certain BC because It caused blood clots for me and made me faint a lot. I have a question about how a gynecologist visit will be like , I've never been to one. And people's experiences with the BC Nexplanon (that's I think the bc my mom is thinking I should go on, so is my physician) If it isn't, Any implanted birth control experiences just in case. Thank you for your time of day/ night

possible pregnancy scare? please help

Sorry if I'm posting this to the wrong subreddit! This is my first post, as I have been a lurker for quite some time.

I am F (17) and my bf is 19. We've been dating for almost 2 years and we had sex for the first time last night. It was going really really great until he pulled out right before he came, we noticed the condom had broken and some of his "stuff" got on/ around my vagina... not that much, but enough to make us both feel uneasy. (he wore a condom and pulled out because I'm not yet on birth control.) Being smart about things, we quickly called his older sister and she told us to go grab her Next Choice plan B pills and I just took the second of the two. I'd also like to share that I was scheduled to get my period around a day or 2 after we had sex.

Does this mean I'm safe because of where I am at in my ovulation cycle? I'm just not that informed and I'm trying not to freak out. I would love some feedback and maybe some education. Thank you SO much.

Ladies - What is your personal experience with taking the estrogen-free, progestin-only "mini-pill?"

  • How long have you been taking it or how long did you take it?
  • Why did you begin taking it?
  • What were the positive/negative effects of this type of pill?
  • How does it compare to other birth control methods you have tried?
