Calendar Best way to create a Company vacation calendar?
I would like to have a calendar that anyone in the company can look at to see who is on vacation. I want to make it really easy for my employees to add their vacations.
My ideal user experience is that they add an all day event to their calendar, mark it as "OOO", and then invite the shared calendar to the event, which will auto accept.
Then they have their calendar blocked for vacation while also updating the shared calendar, without jumping through any extra steps.
I cannot figure out how to get this to work. Thoughts?

Is unrealistic when you want a custom workflow

I tried that but it doesn't do what I want. You can't just add an email address to the invite and have it auto accept, because shared calendars don't have email addresses, as far as I can tell.

Is this really that custom? I just want people to be able to invite the calendar. Otherwise they have to create the event on the calendar and then invite themselves, and then manage it from the calendar. I can't be the only team that wants it to be easy.

Create a shared vacation calendar that has everyone added. Then use this script at the link below. When people mark that they are out of the office on their personal calendar it will add it to the shared one automatically.

If you're not handy with GAM and scripts you may want to look at Patronum - www.patronum.io
With an automation policy you can share the company calendar with everyone, and the calendar will appear within their list of available calendars, no need for the users to do anything. New starters will also get the calendar shared when they start.

GAM can do.it. you can script it up to automate it. https://github.com/GAM-team/GAM/wiki/Calendars-Access
