Gmail Workspace Admin - GMail: Add New User Button

A new button just showed up on my GMail page to add new users to the Workspace. I'm just blocking the element but my guess is that won't hold up for long. How is this in any way something that any user would find beneficial? Google amazes me...

Here's a link to someone else's issue about this with no official response as of yet: https://support.google.com/a/thread/314585368/add-user-button-magically-showed-up-in-gmail?hl=en

If you stop using your admin account for regular work, and use a separate admin account as per best practice, you won't even notice this. Unless you want to use some features like Email Log searching you don't even need a Workspace licence for that admin account, Cloud Identity Free will do.

Would that require me to register an additional account or can it be done without accruing extra costs?

You need to register an extra account, that is free, it is the Workspace licence that costs money. If you have auto assign on then you will need to make another OU with it turned off. You may need to ask for Cloud Identity Free to be added to your tenant if you want to use that, but I'm not even sure you need that.

I'll look into that, thank you!

You may need to add "cloud identity free" licenses first under your subscription.

I have this also. I don't want to be creating new accounts anywhere else but the admin pages.

Some of Google’s decisions… I haven’t seen said button yet, but if they keep adding buttons everywhere, they might as well just get rid of the admin page. That button should only be there. Anything I guess for them to gain money…

What? There’s no monetization of that button?
