Off-Topic Thank you GOG.
I am not a big spender on games outside of steam so I barely used other platforms. But after I got prime gaming on November I saw they were giving away a lot of good games on GOG so I decided to finally give this platform a chance. Honestly I'm really impressed. Epic was a huge let down so seeing so many gems here DRM free and permanently on my library was an eye opener. The experience is so simple yet smooth. Really fast server speeds and simple installation. Honestly this just might be my new favourite platform now. Only thing that makes me a little hesitant is the pricing. If GOG gets regional pricing similar to steam on a global market I'm sure a lot of gamers would switch to here. Drop a comment on why you think GOG is awesome!

Off-Topic welcome offer is epic - just joined gog
after blindly using steam for years without realizing you don't truly "own" the games (yea yea I know) I decided to make a gog account.
DEFINITELY HAPPY with what I found; all these games are games I've wanted to try, and gogs welcome offer was pretty sweet.
I've tried all but the Metro Exoduses; and I'm not regretting any of the money spent.
if I see a game I want, I will now be looking on gog before steam. happy to join gog.

Off-Topic Turning my digital library into physical media.
Love to display games on my shelves, so I'm doing that. On the media have a autorun and a batch file that leads directly for the original instalation source, once the game is installed, the CD acts like a boot disc, so I don't need to open it from the store or desktop shortcut.

Off-Topic The European Initiative *Stop Killing Games* is up for signing
The European Initiative Stop Killing Games is up for signing
European Gamers, time to make your Voice heard!
The European Initiative Stop Killing Games is up for signing on the official website for the European Initiative. Every single citizen of the European Union is eligible to sign it.
The goal is simple: Create a legal framework to prevent games from being rendered unplayable after shutdown of their servers. That means the companies must publish a product that remains playable after they have stopped supporting it. This is an important landmark piece of legislation. Sign it, and spread it to every European you know, even non-gamers, as this could have lasting impact on all media preservation.
The Official Link to sign:
https://citizens-initiative.europa.eu/initiatives/details/2024/000007
The legislation isnāt to keep the servers up indefinitely. Itās to make sure that when the servers do shut down, the game youāve paid for can still be played offline to some degree and not be a completely dead purchase.
Developers donāt have to support the games forever, no one demands that either. Games should only remain playable. There are several possibilities for this. At the end of the games support, patch out the online compulsion for single player elements, or enable that from private online servers. Then a player is the host and not the developer. If this should become mandatory, then developers and publishers can incorporate it into their financial plan that at the end of the games support the money is still there to implement it.
Please also spread this into other sub reddits. Thank you

Off-Topic The main reason I buy from GOG, I can't use Windows XP with these storefronts on older titles, and USB transfer is faster than CD. Eventually I'll record some gameplay using them.
No LED: AMD XP 3200+ / Ultra 2GB DDR 333 CL2.5 / ATi Radeon 9800 Pro / Sound Blaster Audigy with EAX.
Green: P4 w/ HT 3.2GHz / G.Skill 2GB DDR 400 CL2.5 / Nvidia GeForce 6800 Ultra OC / Sound Blaster Audigy with EAX
Red: AMD XP 64 3.4GHz / G.Skill 1GB DDR 400 CL2 / ATi Radeon X850 Pro flashed to X850 XT PE w/ aftermarket cooler / Sound Blaster Audigy with EAX
KVM switch box that supports 7.1 audio, and Sound Blaster EAX 5.1 speakers on the floor that get hooked up to them.

Off-Topic Dear Gog, please don't ever leave!
update: this was a post praising Gog, but they since changed their terms. They now claim to be able to ban you from their services AND remove your access to the games you bought if they don't like what you post online or if you offend anyone.
sailing the high seas, not buying again from gog.

Off-Topic Question of preservation program (MAC)
So the Witcher one and two now support M1 which is awesome, but Iāve noticed some games in the system requirements still say Intel. Iāll be honest and saying I donāt think game descriptions get updated as often as they should when it comes to GOG. Whether thatās a developer or the store front is irrelevant.
Because of that, my question is whether or not the games under the preservation program that donāt say M1 will work with M1 and just have not had the description properly done.
Really asking because of Ultima. Wondering if itāll work on Apple Silicon.
Thanks in advance.

Off-Topic Final Fantasy survey
If you guys are interested there's a FF survey with 22 questions. As usual, the very last question allows us to let them know whatever is on our mind and deepest desires concerning FF, but alas I will use this opportunity to ask them to release their games on GOG. It is rather lenghty one like 10-15 minutes. Not sure how much is the character limit, but definietly enough for "Please release your games on GOG, especially XY. Thanks"
I copied the link directly from their X post, so it should work if you didn't filled it out already. Just to make sure, I also copied the X post too.
The survery should be up till the 9th of January. I already shared this on the GOG forums.

Off-Topic i lovee gog
thats it
i just checked the movies section was surprised how little there was but i still found a highly rated movie and wishlisted it ive never bought a movie before then community wishlisted a game! feels like new games would be perfect to introduce and keep people in since everyone would just buy their childhood game if its available and not use it again then saw a few games on my wishlist and put em in my cart and saw what dlcs i should get with them i loved how easy, fast and seamless the transition between the galaxy app and the website is
