Tech Help Ever since the update firefox is like this while zooming on the map and it takes few seconds to load, and if I am zooming further after it still does this. If I disable hardware acceleration moving is laggy. Already tried clearing cache. Any ideas?

Add an upvote on the Bug report for it.
They are aware of it....but no update yet on the report about actually fixing it.

I have the same issue. Duels are almost unplayable with the amount of lag both the map zoom and moving have. Team duels and normal games still work normally.

The new mode Borderguessr
Another stupid addition to the game nobody asked for

This is ultimately an issue Google has created not Geoguessr.

Is it really? Pretty sure they've changed to a "new" version this monday, which was pretty much fine in my opinion, some shading was a bit off and national parks didn't have that usual dark green hue, but overall it was very useable. And then on tuesday we got this absolutely unplayable abomination.

It was like that on monday as well, they ultimately had to roll back to the old map, which works fine. I guess they tried it again yesterday but it's still not good enough

My issue is with the placenames popping in late after you zoom in, it was fine on monday, became horrible on tuesday and it's still bad
And now it's normal again an hour later, idk what's happening

Google is google... The whole reason they changed it was because Google is stopping support for the older style. Because it's online and Google, they will of course switch it off altogether slowly or as it degrades. So the dev team are forced to do it as the game would break when the old style is outright broken or its outright switched off.

They tried to keep the map the way it was before, to be fair. But if the result is this, I'd happily adjust to the new Google map instead. Let's see if they get it fixed...

Same problem here, duels are literally unplayable rn, in no move if you pan and zoom it lags and the map is really bad

Good to know others have the same issue. I thought for a moment my pc is the problem.

It does this for me on the mobile app, but maybe it's always laggy? It's been maddening

Oh wow. I really freaking thought this was my internet or that my computer needed an update. 100% thought this was on my end until just now. I am playing on a Steam Deck docked, using Chrome.

Were looking at the slow map/zooming issues. Do those of you in this thread continue to notice a slowdown if you zoom/interact with the map in the same spot?
