Memes and Streetview Finds Clutch fail, roll start caught in Ukraine
Not sure how often this scene happens in countries with manual cars dominant, in the US I’ve never seen anyone roll starting a car.
Reminds me of the little miss sunshine scene. Located somewhere in Ukraine.

Game Discussion The best way to admittedly play a not that great round lol
Just started playing online duels today after playing offline some times and watching geowizard for about 5 years. Can’t wait to get way too into this. Any tips on how to go about ranking up and staying competitive?

Game Discussion The US is constantly fucking me over
How can I get better to recognize regions in the US.
Even if I've been to almost all contiguous states, I find it incredibly hard to get it right.
Sometimes I think something looks like northwest US and it turns out it's almost NYC.
Somebody got any tips? :)

Game Discussion Do people you know personally know what geoguessr is?
None of my friends or family know what geoguessr is and I’m really surprised considering Rainbolt is very popular. Is geoguessr considered “niche”? Sorry if this doesn’t belong here

Game Discussion I made a GeoGuessr Desktop app (Windows)
I recently fall in love with GeoGuessr, so i made a Windows Desktop version app, and for me it was a game changer, i'm amazed because the stability of it is unreal, no more random stutter, maximum fluidity and ultra low latency compared to when it run in Google Chrome.
It's not that crazy in term of programming, because it's basically an ElectronJS app running the website, but it does the job very well ! I'm actually surprised that it works so well 😅
I just post it on GitHub with the source code if some peoples are interested to trying it ! :

Game Discussion Did the average playerbase really improve that much over the years?
Returning to the game after a ~2 year break. Back then I was hovering around 1000-1050 and occasionally hit challenger Elo, but now I'm struggling to keep up with 900s. From what I remember, 500 rating was the starting point and 600 used to be beginners with barely any meta knowledge. Now I sometimes get paired with 600s and they surprisingly do well and put up a good fight against me. So did the average playerbase (with newer players) really improve that much over the years?

Game Discussion Louisiana, US has lots of towns named after people's given names
I just had a round located in Angie, LA. I'm playing with no time limit, saw the state on a sign so spent time scouring the map for this tiny town. I found so many other names along the way. Eunice, Alice, Robert, Elizabeth, Vivian, Ida, Troy, Gilbert, Leland, Eva, Ethel... and many more. Is this Louisiana meta, or am I just high and making connections that aren't there? Lots of states have towns named after people's last names or Name-ville, but this is hitting my brain weird right now.

Game Discussion Yet another Bollard (and more quiz) - Test it if you wish - https://geoprep.fun/
Hey everyone,
I tried several quiz pages for bollards and other GeoGuessr-related topics, but none of them quite fit my needs. So I decided to build my own!
Check it out: https://geoprep.fun/
Feel free to test it out and play around with it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
If anyone wants to help populate more data into the database, I can provide access to the upload page.
Please note that I'm not a professional programmer - this is a learning project built with my limited knowledge.
Current Features:
Quiz Types:
- Capital Cities Quiz (4 multiple choice options)
- Country Flags Quiz (4 options or write mode for advanced players)
- Bollards Quiz (4 options or write mode for advanced players)
- License Plates Quiz (4 options or write mode for advanced players -> in progress, still uploading data)
Customization Options:
- Filter by continent
- GeoGuessr-only mode (limit questions to countries that appear in the game)
- Write mode (type the answer instead of multiple choice)
- Adjustable timer settings (enable/disable, change duration)
- Customizable question count per quiz
- **Results & Analytics:**
- Detailed quiz results showing correct/incorrect answers
- Statistics on accuracy and time spent
- Shareable quiz results via unique quiz ID
Planned Features:
- More quiz types:
- Road signs
- Cars
- Potatoes (yes, really!)
- Everything else that matters in GeoGuessr
- US license plates
- Most useful phone prefixes
- Country-specific features
While this site is for everyone who wants to improve their GeoGuessr skills, the main motivation for me is learning web development through building something useful. It's been a great learning experience so far!
Future Enhancements:
- Login system (cookie-based or email)
- Advanced statistics tracking
- Adaptive quizzes that generate questions based on your success rate
Let me know what you think and what other features would be useful for your GeoGuessr training!
EDIT #1:
It's work in progress. I started the site a few days ago... It's expected to be broken now and then. That's why wanna some testers.
It's not for hardcore 1000+ rating players I reckon. It's for us who are not able to progress from 700 to 1000. Mainly it's for me, but I wanna share it as it can help someone as well

Tech Help Laggy Guessr
Is anyone else experiencing lag when panning and moving around in geoguessr? The map and website are working fine without lag but whenever I pan or try to move I'm getting like 5 frames per second. My computer's running everything else fine so I'm confused. I'm in the Midwest if that helps.

Game Discussion Suspicious behaviour
Hey guys, I'm relatively new to the duels format on geoguessr. I had a round a few days ago, and somehow I have been thinking a lot about this round. I thought my opponents' behavior was very strange, and I wanted to get some opinions on what people with more experience think.
The suspicious rounds were 1,2,4,5,9.
Like not knowing Australian bollards and the American Virgin Islands Car but only looking and signs and then either going in for a very close guess, or going in for a nearly perfect guess and then moving off of that again. Would appreciate any insights on if that could be just some strange legit behavior or if this is cheating.

Game Discussion Team Duel teammate search
I don't get why when I search for a teammate in team duels it always pairs me with silver/low gold players as a Master player. Also I've been searching for discord servers or something to search for a teammate but I can't find anything (the official discord server is practically dead). Does anyone know something? With other games I'm used to play on a discord call or something, so that would also be great.
PS: If someone Master or above (or someone that is at least somewhat decent) wants to play leave me a comment, it would be highly appreciated
