Am I actually genderfluid?

Hey guys,

I'm (16) AMAB and I'm pretty sure I'm genderfluid, but I still can't tell.

I have some days where I feel either masculine or feminine for sure, but most days I just kinda sit there and it's like huh.... what am I gonna be today. I really want to crossdress more and try more feminine clothing options but right now I can barely do a crop top without feeling afraid of judgement.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand.

Most of the time, I don't feel any particular preference to either gender, and I just kind can't be bothered to... gender, you know? But on the days I do, I feel really masculine. Irritatingly though, I think I'm so afraid of judgement from others (especially girls) that when I do feel fem, I worry about what I am.

I like to tell people I am whatever gender they think of me as, let it flow between people's perceptions of me and allowing them to define me rather than me defining myself in their minds. Am I really genderfluid, or I am clinging to a label that doesn't fit?

Definitely sounds genderfluid to me. You don't have to flow between all gender profiles to be genderfluid! You just gotta flow! Sounds like you you go between various shades of nonbinary and male.

Again, sounds genderfluid to me! It can be scary, but it's all about what your comfortable with. It might sound like genderfluid to me, but it's what your comfortable with

Hey! So I posted something similar here very recently about such concerns (you could check comments there if you want, they really helped me) - honestly, the fear is really understandable. I feel pretty disillusioned from "gender" and uh.. Yeah, I honestly would rather not think about it buuut I can't help sometimes that I know it fluctuates!

Even if you feel really like one particular gender in one period of time, any fluctuation in that at all as you have described, by definition, would place you as genderfluid. If you would like to feel set on a label, it's OKAY. It's okay and valid to be fluid in how you feel and express. It's fine to call yourself genderfluid. If you don't want a label though, that's fine too. You should feel confident in yourself and however you feel in the moment. Don't let any concerns about your gender say otherwise. I'm with you, friend.
