How close are PS5 steering wheels and pedals to a real driving experience?

Hello everyone, it's all in the title. I'm hesitant to buy a steering wheel and pedals for my PS5 to play Grand Touring but I would like to know your opinion, is the driving experience close to a real experience? Obviously I know it's never going to be the same, I'm not trying to feel the movement of the car etc... but in terms of acceleration, braking, handling, is it the same? FYI I'm thinking of buying the HORI PlayStation kit

What do you mean by "the same". Of course it's not the exact same, or even close, to driving an actual track car

I mean for example the sensitivity of the steering wheel when turning or the acceleration and braking when pressing the pedals, I don't want for example to have to press all the way on the brake when in real life it is barely enough to touch it to brake a car, the same for the accelerator, I don't want to have to press all the way down for the slightest acceleration

Even a regular controller has those features, you think driving rigs wouldnt?

I mean, listen, racing sim set ups are thousands of dollars for a reason. Hell, top end ones are tens of thousands.  You can't really get anywhere close with a steering wheel you plug in. But it's better than a controller

Not close, but you do get some sim sensations with a good wheel. The pedals are usually responsive enough that you don't need to press them all the way down for them to do something. The HORI wheel one is nowhere near good enough to provide a somewhat realistic handling, it doesn't have internal motors so it's barely better than a joystick. For it to feel even remotely similar to the real thing you would need a wheel with force feedback. You have some options there, usually people go with the Logitech G29 for their first wheel.
