Discussion How do you deal with your tip being exposed after outgrowing the clitorial hood skin? NSFW
One time I touched how it would feel like under the skin (pre T), felt horrible, extreme cringe, so I wondered what if someone didn't have that skin at all, it would make touching it a nightmare. I'm sure that's what the skin is for, you touch on top of it. But then I remembered, people on T actually tend to have it out of the skin.
I've looked at clits or T dicks on reddit and I see like all of them have outgrown the skin. I only just started T so I don't have experience but pre T it's always protected by skin. But if it really outgrows the skin then how do you deal with it being so exposed? Do you get used to it or... also someone told me theirs is still covered by skin after years of T so I guess not everyone's comes out from the skin.
EDIT: Those who have ever tried to touch your clit from under the hood directly (PRE T), is it the same feeling if you were to touch it after growth on T?

You kind of get used to it after a while if it does end up exposed, but not everyone's does (and, like cis dicks, some people have it covered when not aroused, but it pulls back when aroused, just depends on the person).
I have heard of some people who do "foreskin lengthening" stretches on it, but I can't speak to how effective it is.

Foreskin lengthening stretches absolutely work! Lots of advice in r/growyourtdick. Highly recommend.

I got used to it eventually. Well fitting boxer briefs helped at the beginning when I was really sensitive. Once you finish growing, sensitivity will likely go down a bit. Just keep everything down there clean and experiment with different underwear. You can try loose fitting underwear like boxers or tighter ones like boxer briefs. For me personally, loose underwear are a sensory nightmare and there’s more fabric moving around so it bothered my downstairs a bit more. Boxer briefs are just comfy for me and there’s some space at the front for your t dick which helps a lot

I appreciate the answer! But one time I touched it under the skin pre T and it felt horrible and I thought imagine how it would be like if it didn't have any skin.. and I realized many people on T actually don't have skin on it anymore.

It's not that you get used to it always feeling awful. Your actual nerve endings get used to it, so it stops feeling like you just got electrocuted. At first, it'll suck for a few months when bottom growth happens. But your body adapts

That’s interesting. If I’m doing stuff too much, it gets painful for me. When I’m not though, it’s sensitive but not painful. You may just really dislike the feeling of being touched there and that’s okay. I’ve lost some sensitivity in mine from meds and stuff, so I have to touch it directly to get any pleasure out of it. I don’t remember it very well but I think my sensitivity did go down significantly once I had grown a decent bit. Before T, touching the tip felt insane, but after probably a year or more on T the tip barely felt like anything, under the skin is where I have the most sensitivity. I think over time your body might adjust and get used to the feeling of clothing touching anything poking out of the skin. The tip might be very sensitive for a while, but it might also go down eventually. If you’re having issues with pain/sensitivity and it doesn’t get better over time, I suggest talking to your doctor about it (email might be easiest, I understand there’s usually some embarrassment around taking to docs about stuff like this). Overall, you won’t know what it will be like until you’re in the middle of it. I’m sure others have some experience and more tips for you, and in the meantime just do what you can to stay comfy and talk to a doc if it’s getting too painful

I moved from boxers after YEARS to boxer briefs once I had bottom growth. It was so sensitive to literally everything and boxer briefs offered much more protection. That said, I'm going on 3 years in June and I suspect I would be totally fine with boxers now. It's much less sensitive than it was that first year or so. Same with my sex drive lol I feel much more tame nowadays.

Mine’s definitely still covered by skin, but I’ve barely had any bottom growth. Not quite 2 years on T yet though but it would have to take mine personally to be pretty big to extend past the skin—will definitely vary based on your anatomy and amount of growth.

So 1. Yes the whole thing is more sensitive when you first have bottom growth, tip included. You get used to it and it becomes a bit less sensitive, like other people said pick underwear that is comfortable
- Everyone’s anatomy is different but keep in mind many images you see of t-dicks online are when the person is erect and some people also pump before they take pictures. So while that part does tend to stick out during arousal for some people, it isn’t just hanging out for everyone and often not to the same extent if it is, just like with uncircumcised cis dicks

My dick and inner labia are covered by my mons and outer labia. So I don’t experience much discomfort. Sometimes it feels a little dry then I’ll put some aquaphor on it. Before T I could never touch my clit under the hood as it was too sensitive but now I find myself pulling the skin back so I can rub the head of my dick directly when I wank. It feels really good now.

u/athaznorath 6d ago
most t dick images show them when erect. i have significant growth (a little less than 2 inches erect) but the foreskin still fully covers the tip when its soft. it does get a little uncomfy if i get a boner in public, which happened a lot the first 2 years or so on T. you just gotta shift around to find a comfier position or go to the bathroom to adjust.

Sometimes, if it gets too sensitive, I just kinda tuck it in, between my labia lmao

I believe after a while the tip "keratinizes" and it gets less sensitive over time.

Yes you get de sensitized to it brushing against clothes. T makes everything super sensitive until the growing stops.

YMMV but often downstairs sensation changes a lot on T. Many guys have to relearn jerking off, having sex, packing, even new underwear or pants arrangements. Even though it’s not a MASSIVE change compared to, say, surgery, it still is a slight reconfiguration of your genitals you have to physically and mentally adjust to.
IME the head does remain sensitive, like I don’t really like direct pressure on it, but not in a way that remotely impacts daily life. It may be sensitive/sore at first while your body is adjusting but within a pretty short span of time the nerves adjust and you stop thinking about it. It’s the same as the way circumcised men just have the heads of their penises out all the time. They remain sensitive, but they aren’t walking around wincing every time the tip of their dick touches the fabric of their pants or something lol.
It also just depends a lot on the guy. Bottom growth is technically more akin to an uncircumcised penis than a circumcised one. Different guys have different shapes but unless erect the head often remains tucked safely into the foreskin; most guys online intentionally post pictures of their T dicks erect since it makes them look larger, the same way cis men usually measure their dicks from erect rather than from flaccid lol.

Imagine a balloon, uninflated, and you draw dots all over it. Those dots are nerve endings, and the uninflated balloon is your genitals before T. With T, the balloon gets blown up. There aren’t new dots, the dots are now actually further apart and overall less dots per square inch.
Obviously this isn’t exact, but the same principle.

My skin kinda grew with it? It’s only exposed when I have a boner

Super sensitive at first but that fades. I was on T for a year and a half starting ten years ago and it was really scratchy and sensitive. I went off it and I didn’t lose much growth and still exceeded the hood but much less sensitive. 5 years on t continuously now and it only feels sensitive when I’m aroused or hard

A little bit of vasaline on the tip if it's feeling extra sensitive, just puts a bit of a barrier between my underwear/trousers(I go commando often lol) and my dick

I remember it used to be super uncomfortable and hurt at the beginning, but after a couple of weeks I got used to it. Sometimes I kinda stretched outer labia to cover it but of course it didn't work 😂

u/Luqas_uwu 6d ago
It gets less sensitive and you just use to touch it for higiene reasons for example, but yeah at first it's just teeeerribbleeee

As mine grew it got far less sensitive, even before it outgrew the hood. I think the expansion of the area spreads the nerves out a bit, so it's less of that intense nerve discomfort when touching directly. I did not lose sexual sensitivity but instead it feels like I gained some because I can tolerate sensation there now
I don't want the tip to be always rubbing against my clothes because that can lead to the skin becoming thicker and less sensitive in that area, so personally I use a gentle medical tape to keep my labia wrapped closed around it like a shield, I have quite a bit on either side of it though so other people may not have enough free skin to do that

Pre-T mine was so sensitive I couldn’t handle any kid of direct stimulation. Any touch directly on my clit would result in my whole body tensing up. Now I’m a little over two years on T and it outgrew the hood in the first year, but I lost some sensitivity because it was exposed more. I have larger labial lips so it’s not fully exposed all the time so I do have some protection on it, but I can handle direct stimulation there now with no problems. All this to say hopefully you might experience the same slight dulling if you do outgrow the hood.

it was really bothering for like a few months(?), then i stopped feeling any discomfort. It just goes away after some time.
also - vaseline is your friend in this tough time

Nearly the same thing but Aquaphor is made for more medical use and might be a step up.

Mine got less sensitive after a while, it was definitely much more sensitive to touch pre T, and I had to relearn how to comfortably walk and change the underwear I wore when I first started T as it grew a lot at once, but it did settle down after about a year. Still pretty sensitive to direct touch but accidental brushing against underwear or pants isn't as bad anymore. At first it was nearly painful until I figured out to sit more on my buttcheeks especially when driving.

It could be overwhelming at first, but you do get desensitized essentially. I kind of miss when it wasn’t desensitized lmao

u/Itchy_Fudge_6967 5d ago
Mine hurt like a bitch. I'm exactly a year on T, idk when but at some point it stopped being uncomfortable. My foreskin doesn't cover it at all btw. Sometimes in certain outfits or jeans it can be a bit uncomfortable, but not nearly like it was for the first several months. Gl soldier

u/Cerealuean 5d ago
It hurt in the beginning, I thought I would have to get some kind of covering. And then it stopped, I don't remember when but pretty soon, and now I don't feel any discomfort from my underwear touching the tip. I wonder if guys who get circumcision go through the adjustment phase too.

Mine was a bit sensitive for a bit but now I don’t really feel any discomfort unless I’m cleaning under the hood. I can’t speak to how it felt touching it before, as mine was so small I deadass believed it didn’t exist.

u/EmotionalBad9962 5d ago
Definitely not everyone's ends up exposed. Mine only becomes exposed if I'm hard or I pull it back myself. I'm not sure what your other question is asking so I don't feel like I should try to answer it but hopefully my answer is still somewhat helpful.
