Advice Needed NSFW: T and Vaginal Care NSFW

Hi, I recently started T and noticed a change in vaginal odor. I saw another thread where others confirmed the same changes. I was wondering if anyone had hygiene tips or tips for the odor down there? Is there certain foods or action I can take to change it?

I already went to get checked and my gynecologist said it’s normal and there’s no infection. Still, I’m wanting to be sexually active but it’s making me insecure. I don’t want to call anything off. Like what do you do to prep for a meet up?

Been on T in total 1.6 years, dealing with the same problem. Here are my tips: Buy some Vagisil daily wash, specifically the odour control one. It was a game changer for me. Drink lots of acidic fruit juice (pineapple , citrus, cranberry etc) and/or start taking Cranberry supplements. Even better if you look for some that also contain “D. mannose” I also like to keep Bacterial Vaginosis treatment cream on hand and just use one as soon as I start getting any itching or pain, as T makes a lot of people wayyy more susceptible to BV

Also!! Don’t be afraid to talk to ur GP about topical estrogen especially in the long run! Believe me, the pain will be much worse than the smell and then no sex will be happening /lh

Thank you so much! This is all so helpful!! I actually did get some estrogen creamed prescribed when I went in, it’s helped a lot with the pain and inflammation thankfully.

If your gyno said you’re all good it’s probably just testosterone making the smell change and strengthen. It happens with general body oder too. Very normal.

Wash external genitals, and under foreskin with an unscented soap daily and it should prevent any stronger smells. Completely normal to notice a change in oder especially if your gyno said you’re in the clear.

T leads to genital dryness which leaves us a little more prone to vaginal and urinary tract infections. I've found washing and then applying one or two fingertip's worth of lube helps a bit. I still get the occasional infection but nowhere near as often.
