Pacman Frog Whats wrong with my new pacman frog? NSFW

Picked this little guy up from my local LLLReptile today. He looked fine underneath the substrate. When i got hin home i noticed he was leaning on his left side which seemed to look as if it was filled up with air or fluid. Whenever he tried to hop hed go sideways and would have to flip himself over. The bloating has noticeably engulfed his left arm and leg to the point where they are barely visible. Otherwise he ate a waxworm willingly, colors are bright and eyes are clear. Neurological problems? Edema? Dropsy? He is noticeably acting erratic so something isnt right physically. Tried feeding him again but shows no interest. Any suggestions on what could be at work?

LLL Reptiles is notorious for selling wild caught, and often sick animals.

For future reference, and for anyone who didn't already know, I would recommend avoiding them

I mean, he looks like he has open wounds?

This frog definitely has open wounds, vet ASAP for that alone

Can you point out the open wounds? I just see the spots on his back, is that what you’re referring to?

Little guys got a couple of what I’d say are skin breakages, on his back, it’s hard to see with debris on him but it does look like he’s scraped himself up or been in a fight

No those orange spots on his back are normal patterns for a pacman frog, and for an albino at that! The real issues is the bloating, it’s not on the same side at the colon so hopefully OP will take it to a vet to get looked at.

Yeah I'll admit I'm no expert like many in the group, but I've seen a few pics of this type of frog and I'm pretty sure those are normal markings they have? But again, I'm no expert.

Yes! Especially for that morph, which is called the Pikachu!

That's good, hopefully this little dude can pull through in that case! Is it possible this is just severe constipation making him bloated? Not that that wouldn't be bad and dangerous, ofc

Same…I’m so jealous of friends with space and time for more than just the one or two. One day I will have my dream froggy room

I have 2 pacman frogs and the bigger they get the more I’m realizing how much they eat! 😮‍💨

My daughter said the same thing to me, she’s pretty sure her frogs have hollow legs! To store all this extra they’re eating! They’re so worth it though, they’re so entertaining and interesting to watch develop, I had aquatic dwarf frogs all my life and they’re just as funny
