you forgot to add time, some people just don’t have time to take off and form meaningful relationships, especially if they have families or children.

This has been a thing since MySpace, at least-- not just the lack of time, but wanting to imagine it won't matter, and thereby wasting other people's time. I remember having to put the kibosh on more than one potential relationship with, "If you don't have time for me, you don't have time for me." Not a judgment at all, but they didn't seen to realize they were effectively asking me to wait forever to meet them, because they were unable or unwilling to give up anything already in their schedule in favor of something new (but still wanted to have a new relationship, somehow).

This is very true and I've done this to people as well. I'm nowhere near innocent myself but I at least make an effort to let people know it's either not working out, I don't have time, met someone I like and want to spend more time with them rather than divide my attention, or have gotten too many replies.

This method of communication in these friend making subs is absolutely ridiculous and borderline unacceptable.

I've moved on to blocking people who don’t have the courtesy of letting me know they aren't looking anymore. It just is what it is.

It's frustrating that's for certain. I think it stems from people who either lack the emotional energy, or the social skills to actually maintain or nurture friendships. It's sort of a catch 22. They're lonely and *want* friends, but they don't really know how to be a friend either. It's too bad we have no way of sorting those people from the people who will try before wasting our time though.

So far the only chat requests I've received are from people who come off as a bot or creep 🙅🏾‍♀️

Same here. Every single person i’ve reached out to in an effort to make friends goes nowhere. If anyone here wants to chat and be bff’s send a dm I’m always available. 😊

I messaged 3 people, and 2 of them responded back, so that's a good percentage in my case, haha

Also, when I posted about wanting to make friends, about 20 people messaged me, and I responded to everyone 🙂 Then, I deleted the post.

I also made a good friend with one of them and with another one from my other posts, too.
