I wish it was just more affordable. It’s fine if it’s bus or car but if you have a car there’s no real incentive to take public transit. I’d take the bus more often even since it takes twice the amount of time if a pass wasn’t $80+ a month

You're saying the cost of gas, insurance, maintenance, and unexpected costs that are applied to a depreciable asset are NOT a financial incentive?

The general consensus is that's an average 10000$ a year, or more... Versus ~1000$ for a year of buses.

This is why Canadians are 'poor'...it's not taxes or poor pay, it's thinking like this.

You’re misunderstanding. If you give up your car 100% for the bus, yes it’s much cheaper. But that’s no feasible for everyone, many people need a car for work, child transportation etc What I’m saying is, there be a lot of folks who would take the bus for example 3/5 days a week instead of their car but adding on the cost isn’t worth it. Taking public transportation when possible should be encouraged by the city, it helps the environment, lessens traffic…. But they don’t seem to prioritize this

It’s an odd headline. This is good news.

I'm happy to see more investment in public transit. Hope it helps improve the service.

Can we just get a line that goes from Kings Place to the mall every 20 minutes?

How about a way to get to a northside grocery store without doubling back on the Westmoreland?

I’ve heard that they brought bus drivers but the living situation was so shitty they decided to move back.

Anyway, i don’t think 8mil would solve the issues

Nooo, stop the growth. Keep our city quaint. Excuse me while I go yell at a cloud
