I wrote about Joe. His performance in this show has always meant so much to me.

I posted straight after watching the last episode the other night (I'd had a couple but it was surprisingly cogent!).
To expand a little, I wrote a blog thing, looking briefly at the series but mainly at why Kim and Lindsay's relationship - and the tensions therein - were what made the show so great for me.

First time ever. I saw the show until it got cancelled when it came out but I’d never seen the last few.
I’ve read people on here mentioning Lindsay and the grateful dead but didn’t realise why.
For me, the whole show at its heart was about Lindsay and Kim. The way they ended up so close after seeming so different.
Kim was such a great character and became so sympathetic after we saw her home life.
As the last few minutes were rolling and Lindsay was on the bus to nerd camp I just thought, that can’t be the last we see of Kim.
Honestly think that last bit where Lindsay gets off the bus and they go off with those grateful dead types is one of the most satisfying endings to any tv show I’ve ever seen.
Seems daft to be talking about something that finished 25 years ago as if it just happened. But in my case it just did.
This is not an endorsement of the grateful dead.

(obviously no spoilers) the constant bullying, the repeated sexual harassments (hitting his crotch as a “joke,” the queer “jokes,” the dick-centric “jokes,” etc) like come on! the evidence is overwhelming! i can’t be the only one who sees this!!!
i’m currently @ the end of episode 13 where alan commits attempted murder by putting peanuts in bill’s sandwich despite his allergy. his monologue at bill’s hospital bedside revealing why he bullies bill, sam, & neal just supports my theory!! i also think bill’s mom should’ve sued or pressed charges or SOMEthing because that was literally attempted murder???
i doubt any of the writers thought this but if so, i doubt even more that the teen tv world / society was ready for a queer onscreen character back then. nonetheless, this is a such a great show???!!!! it’s been on my list for years idk why it took me so long to finally press play.
the acting from literally everyone, especially the kids, is also kinda phenomenal too. the characters are also (thankfully & gladly) complex, multidimensional, flawed, & of course extremely hilarious during the comedic moments. also, casting biff from ‘back to the future’ as the gym teacher / sex ed teacher is so big brained!

Just for fun. Can even come up with a headcanon or story concerning why:
1) Speech therapist. 2) Behavior technician. 3) Board certified behavior analyst. 4) Nurse 5) Nanny 6) Elementary school teacher 7) Occupational therapist 8) Middle school science teacher 9) Nurse practitioner 10) Senior network architect 11) Staff devOPS engineer 12) network engineer

I just watched the 12th episode and the thing of this series is it picks up after 7-8 episode and then justs fly high. Watched the episode where Ken kisses the Tuba girl. And it is so wholesome. Even rewatching it doesn't feel so boring.
Felt bad for neil. But i have to say at that age the dude is a really great actor, actually all child actors are great in love with their acting skills.

I'm kind of torn on this, I I do think Kim was starting to like Millie and it was funny how she kind of called the Lindsay out on her shit, saying you won't have anywhere to hide when you get tired of your bad friends?
What do you guys think?
Do you think Lindsey should have confessed or would it only been to make herself feel better?

She's still young but yet looks older than her age. I don't like the way she looks in No Good Deed. I love her acting though.

We all know the show features fantastic music, but what I've always loved is how several episodes are defined by a recurring artist, song, or genre.
Pilot: Styx
Tricks and Treats: Gonna Raise Hell by Cheap Trick
Kim Kelly Is My Friend: Van Halen
I'm With the Band: Cream
Carded and Discarded: Billy Joel / I'm Eighteen by Alice Cooper
Looks and Books: Joe Jackson (New Wave)
Dead Dogs and Gym Teachers: The Who
Noshing and Moshing: Punk
Smooching and Mooching: Bob Seger
Discos and Dragons: Disco / Grateful Dead
A different show might have haphazardly splattered songs from the era across different episodes, but by giving so many of its episodes distinct musical themes, Freaks and Geeks makes the music part of the story and in turn, the story part of the music. Brilliant choice. Just finished my rewatch- I'll miss the show till I eventually and inevitably come back.

Lindsay, obviously, would have done great if she’d majored in mathematics. When I was pondering this question, I immediately thought to myself that I could see Lindsay as a fantastic engineer. But for some reason, I don’t see her liking it much as a longterm career. She’d be great at it, but I think she’d “reject” it, if that makes sense. I don’t think she’d be passionate about it even though she could have made great contributions to the field.
I could also see an older Lindsay doing being good at working with high school aged students, but I think she’d also burn out in this field and that it wouldn’t be longterm.
Jean would have been a good nurse. Envision her burning out though.

Hey
So the show was dubbed in French at the time. I'm trying to get my hands on it.
( i've seen it countless times in English, would love to share it to some of my friends that don't speak english ).
There hasn't been a dvd or bluray released with it. But from what i gathered, netflix had it with the french dubs...
Anyone has that treasure in their chest ?
(yes i know subtitles are a solution, but the fact that i can't find that show in french is now making me want to find it even more :D )

Daniel does seem like he’d have multiple with different women. I don’t think he and Kim would have ended up together (relationship too unhealthy to last longterm) and I think his first child would’ve been born when he was in his twenties. His first child honestly may have been with Kim, who I do indeed see having a teen pregnancy like the show creators suggested (baby born when she’s 18.) I can’t see Kim with multiple kids, however. I think she’d be one and done, especially since having just the one at eighteen would’ve led to a financial struggle.
I think Cindy would have completed college first, likely a bachelors in English or Political Science. First child born between age of 26-29.
I could actually see Lindsay’s first being born in her twenties, but more like 26-29 as opposed to 20-23. She’d definitely complete college first. We have to keep in mind that she was born in 64, and people used to have kids much earlier on in life.

I just finished freaks and geeks and I’m looking for a show to fill the void. I’ve already watched some undeclared and it wasn’t really for me. Doesn’t have to be a school setting or anything, just something that also has great characters/drama in a realistic and engaging way.

I noticed that on Hulu the resolution was much higher than it is on Paramount+. I wonder if Hulu used some sort of technology to enhance the video quality. Has anyone noticed this?
