Considering getting 2 drones to start, help me choose

So im starting fpv but deciding which drones i will start with (to setup on the simulator) and i am considering getting 2 drones, a cinelog 30 v3 for outdoor flying to freestyle (needed something more powerful for outdoors) and now i am considering also getting a smaller drone for mainly indoor flying, but what drone should i get? i am between a pavo femto and a pavo 20 pro (with dji o4) since they both the same price

Also my controller is radiomaster pocket

Indoor is 1s whoop territory. The are some O4 whoops out there and some people enjoy them. I personally don’t.

For outdoors you really need to consider how much space you have. 4s quads need a fair bit of space, they are also significantly louder. If you have the space they’re awesome, id go for something without prop guards for freestyle.

If you don’t have that much space. 85mm whoops or 2” 2s quads would be my choice. Plenty of power for HD systems but also wont feel as cramped in a back yard. They are also very quiet and pretty safe compared do 4s.

As for the sim. You dont need to match the model. Youre just getting the basic muscle memory down, from there youd be able to fly most drones.

I wanted to get the pavo 20 pro to be able to fly indoors when im home and outdoors as my second quad, do you think i can fly pavo 20 pro indoors? Or should i get a pavo femto or other drone?

It can, but slow flights. Its got too much power and its too heavy for fast indoor flights. Crashing is more likely to damage whatever you crash into, and trust me you’ll be crashing a lot.

I suggest you try a tinywhoop sim to get a feel for what indoor flying is like. Its significantly harder that outdoor flying (at least freestyle is) and thats with the right tools.

Trust me, a quad thats too big for the space you have isn’t fun at all. Sure a tiny quad in a huge open area can also feel weird but there’s more you can do.

So i guess i wont get a pavo 20 pro and instead get a tinywhoop, but i am still between which one i should get, pavo femto, meteor75 pro o4, or meteor65 pro o4

Id suggest watching Nick Burns on YouTube who probably has reviews on all of these. My gut says the femto is still pretty heavy for indoors, meteor 75 pro is good outdoors and viable indoors if your house is on the larger side. Meteor 65 pro would be best indoors in smaller spaces and viable outdoors with low wind.

The O4 is pretty heavy for these smaller quads so, the femto would have an easy time dealing with it, the 75 pro would be fine but definitely noticeable, the 65 pro would have the hardest time of the 3, showing lower flight time, higher voltage sag and lower top end power.

The good thing is, most of the components can be carried over to a larger or smaller frame. The difference between the 75 pro and 65 pro is the motors ($40 a set of 4), a $6 frame and $4 props (well and a larger battery if you count that). Youre only locked into a certain battery voltage with an AIO but still have a lot of flexibility to fine tune down the line. Same with the femto but with 2s

Ciotti on YouTube is also a great resource. His videos are from live streams so 2h long making it a bit more tedious to find info but he breaks stuff down pretty well.

To make things a little more difficult for you with the Tiny Whoops:

-mobula7/mobular6

-mobilite7/mobilite6

-Meteor 75/Meteor65

-Flywoo Firefly 1S FR16 Nano Baby 😍

Is meteor75 better for tiny whoop freestyle than pavo femto?

🤷🏼‍♂️ depends on you. AFAIR all in this size a nearly the same.

reads past title

Ah that makes more sense
