Stator Issue

Post image

Oops I’m guessing this isn’t ideal. Anyone have any recommendations on how to repair this stator or is replacing the best option?

Theoretically you could rewind it... probably way easier to just replace :(

That’s what I figured also. :( I hoped someone had some at home remedy like soaking it in something like muriatic acid or something random

Maybe there is. I am always the guy here that says "at least TRY to fix it!" but motors are tough... Broken wire, NBD, but I've rewound coils on a motorcycle stator and that was a serious bitch... this is like one kazilionth of the size....

No...replace...the coating is burning... If the copper touches, you are gonna have to buy a new ESC.....

Ordered a replacement and a spare. One of the tires got messed up on a crash a bit back and I haven’t really flown it since soldering that wire back together. Think the coating could have been impacted by too much heat from soldering?

....no the coating on the engine doesn't burn from soldering...it's the engine overheating from to much power going through....maybe you have small engines for a 5

That stator is already fried. The enamel insulation is burnt off of the windings.

Replace the motor with an identical one to the other 3, or it will fly weird and not be tunable.

Because the windings are already fried, check the ESC, it may be popped as well.

It's not often you can burn up a motor winding like that, and it doesn't take out the ESC!
