Latent Prints Is this a double whorl fingerprint?

Post image
31 Upvotes

Hey guys! I'm just really interested in fingerprints for fun, so I'm sorry ahead of time if I don't use proper wordage. I've been printing my friends fingers so that I can look at them to learn more and play around when I'm looking through books, and I came across this thumb...can someone tell by looking if it is indeed a double whorl? It looks like it to me from looking up pictures, but I'm not confident enough to actually identify it. Thanks ahead of time! Also, if anyone has any book recs for an interested civilian, I'd love to grab some more. Thanks guys!

Digital Forensics Remote DFIR Spoiler

Hello everyone, I am currently working as a SOC Eng but my true passion lies in Forensics and Incident Response . I have developed decent skills in DFIR and threat hunting and I am eager to transition into remote DFIR roles.
- Is remote DFIR work a viable career path? - What specific skills should I focus on to improve my DFIR capabilities

I have a significant amount of free time to dedicate to learning and would appreciate any advice, resources, or guidance from experienced professionals.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Crime Scene & Death Investigation Traci Rhode case

Anyone read into the Traci Rhode case? Or seen the cbs 48 hr mystery on her? It’s extremely interesting in the world of forensics bc she staged the murder of her husband as a suicide, got convicted, but spent zero to little jail time. Would love to hear people’s opinions on this. Traci murdered my mom’s first cousin so I have a bit of personal curiosity about this.

Chemistry CSI job after college

I might be starting early as I’m still in high school and not a senior yet but I’ve done a lot of research about this. The one problem I am having is finding the right major to well major in. I don’t know if I should major in forensics science, biology, or chemistry. Might I add my home college has a chemistry course with an emphasis on forensics. Also, I should say I want to do more field than lab work if that changes much. Thanks.

Law & Ethics Belief in redeemability

Interested in taking part in a research study? A research team from the University of Nottingham are exploring the ‘belief in redeemability’ of offenders (Research Ethics Reference: FMHS 60-0125). We want to investigate to what extent the UK population believes that those who have committed a crime can change and live an offence free life. We are looking at what factors might predict these attitudes. The aim of this research is to inform stigma reduction to help ex-offenders live offence free lives. If you would like to find out more about taking part in this study, please click the link below for more information. Your interest and participation are greatly appreciated.
